JJ Abrams’ new Star Trek movie shot a load of fresh pictures all over the internet yesterday and I’ve compiled them for you here.  I’m disappointed, but I don’t really know why.  I guess I assumed a space captain would be a guy who could buy space beer with out getting space carded.  But they look pretty much exactly how you’d expect from pictures of Star Trek as envisioned by the producer of Lost.  With the possible exception of Eric Bana as Nero, they all have that cheesy TV look, with the glamour shots lighting and the I’ve-been-stranded-on-an-island-for-months-but-still-have-a-waxed-chest-and-designer-jeans feel to them.

JFX online has the first pics of Zachary Quinto (that they decided to put a big stupid watermark on) as young Spock in JJ Abrams’ overhyped  Star Trek project.

Meanwhile, in a little kiddie rape van on the outskirts of town, IESB has some needlessly thorough, spoileriffic details concerning the plot.  I tried to read it, but it gave me douche chills.  Look, if you want to know the plot details of the Star Trek movie ahead of time, it’s probably not going to work out between us.

Anyway, I don’t know who the hell this guy is, but I do envy his name.  I mean, how many other people do you know with the initials “Z.Q.”?  I’m tempted to point out my maid, Zelma Quintana, but I don’t think the help should count.  I guess I’m old-fashioned like that.

But yeah, Zachary Quinto.  He definitely should’ve been a magician.
