Will Ferrell’s Spanish-language, faux-telenovela, Casa De Mi Padre, just released this new publicity still in honor of Valentine’s Day. It’s not Valentine’s Day yet, but I’m posting it anyway, for obvious reasons. It opens March 16th, and the marketing for this has been all but perfect so far, but at this point, is there any way the actual movie could possibly be as good as the idea of the movie? Because the way I imagine it, it’s already the greatest movie ever. It could only go down from here.

Little Known Fact: “Chiva” means goat in Spanish. ERGO, by the transitive property, I’d like to think the literal Spanish translation of chivalry is actually “goat dueling.” Consider that next time you’re being nice to a girl.

With Casa de mi Padre set to hit theaters on March 16, Will Ferrell is currently in New Orleans working on his latest movie, Dog Fight. The first image was released last week (via NOLA Films) so now we can all start getting really excited about it, because LOOK! HE HAS FUNNY HAIR! And there’s Jason Sudeikis! Warm up the message boards, folks, because we have speculating to do.

Ferrell plays a South Carolina politician with presidential ambitions, but he’s locked in a heated rivalry with a fellow statesman played by Zach Galifianakis. I assume there will be hijinks when the two try to derail each other’s campaigns, and I’m guessing a lot of yelling of the shirtless variety. Dog Fight also stars Jason Sudeikis, who is currently playing the role of “The Luckiest Bastard Alive” in Olivia Wilde’s bedroom, as well as Dylan McDermott, Brian Cox, John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd, who was apparently able to pry himself away from his current Happy Madison obligations.

The film is scheduled for the convenient election season release date of August 10.

Today brings us (thanks to IMPA) a new poster for the Will Ferrell-and-Adam-McKay-produced Spanglish comedy, Casa De Mi Padre. They promise it will be “The funniest movie you’ll ever read,” which is a bold statement, considering Schindler’s List also had subtitles (*slide whistle, banana peel*). Anyway, I just checked my sweatpants, and yup, I’ve still got a big boner for this. Though I confess, I’m probably the ideal audience. My stepdad is Mexican, and my high school was 70-some percent Mexican, so I feel like I know all of their secrets. I’m basically the Mexican whisperer. And there are few things I’d enjoy more than Will Ferrell mocki– er, celebrating their culture for 90 minutes.

Casa De Mi Padre opens March 16th, which leaves plenty of time to add in more Cholombian sideburns. (It already has pointy boots, thankfully).

I’m sick of these movies coming out with new trailers on Friday afternoon. That’s daddy’s “wanking and crying” time! Anyway, I cleaned the lotion off my hands just long enough to post this new trailer and posters for Casa De Mi Padre, the Spanish-language comedy from Gary Sanchez productions opening in March. It’s about as funny as you would imagine (Will Ferrell speaking broken Spanish in a faux-telenovela is about as close to a golden concept as you’re going to get), and it’s got Ron Swanson, every internet dork’s newest boyfriend (not that I’m disagreeing). My only criticisms are, in order of importance:

• NO DANNY TREJO?!?! ARE JU KEEDEEN ME, PUTO?

• Nice job on the pointy boots, but needs more Cholombian Sideburns

I know that for people who don’t enjoy Tim and Eric, Tim and Eric are basically the antichrist. So to those people, go grab a bagel or something, and meet us back here in an hour. That’s right, some of the best selling points for Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar movie include “taquito” and “shrim,” and I’m not going to try to defend that at all. This looks awesome.
