“Toy Story 4″ is currently trending on Twitter, and there are a lot of “Toy Story 4 coming in 2015″ headlines across the internet, but they all seem to have question marks after them. So what’s going on? NO ONE REALLY KNOWS, OBVIOUSLY! But beyond that, the report is that Toy Story 4 is happening, and that Disney Pixar has confirmed. Though the report is coming from sources in Colombia, which seems like an odd place for Disney to break the news.

Two Colombian news sources are reporting that Toy Story 4 has been made official with Pixar promising a 2015 release date and the return of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack.

The story has appeared on the news website Terra, as well as in the Twitter feed of Jorge Luis Balaguera, “entertainment co-ordinator” for the radio station, RCN.

Both treat the news as though they’ve received an announcement from Pixar. [ScreenCrush]

So how did the Colombians get this news before us? My guess is that they were up all night doing cocaine. HIYO! I kid, I kid. Obvious jokes, am I right? Anyway, take this news with a grain of salt until it’s confirmed by Disney. They haven’t confirmed it, as of now. But given that Toy Story has that rare combination of drawing power, critical acclaim, and merchandising opportunities, the only way Disney wouldn’t make a fourth one, in 2015 or otherwise, is if they were allergic to money. And if Walt’s company has proved anything over the years, it’s that they’re not allergic to money. Jews, maybe, but not money.

Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich recently took to his Twitter account, and, on a rare break from vivid descriptions of dumps he just took (TMI, Unkrich! God!), shared some of the titles that got thrown around at Pixar before they eventually settled on Toy Story. He said there had been an open call to studio employees, eventually amassing more than 200 suggestions. Here are 16 of the rejects Unkrich says he selected at random:

• Made in Taiwan
• Moving Buddies
• To Infinity and Beyond
• Wind-Up Heroes
• The Cowboy & The Spaceman
• Spurs & Rockets
• Bring Me The Arm of Buzz Lightyear
• Wind the Frog

• Toyz in the Hood
• Each Sold Separately
• Wings & Pullstrings
• Some Assembly Required
• The Favorite

Out of these, I’d say “To Infinity and Beyond” isn’t bad, and “The Favorite” makes sense, though it isn’t very evocative. Toy Story certainly seems like the correct choice. If Bruckheimer was producing, it definitely would’ve been “Toyz in the Hood.” It makes you wonder if other titles, like, say, “Knight and Day” also beat out 199 other suggestions. And if so, what could’ve been worse than Knight and Day? Root Canals and Child Porn? Crazy ‘Bout Hitler? Discuss.

Unfortunately this came from Tumblr, and people on Tumblr aren’t very good at crediting their sources so I don’t have much information about it.  Is it real?  Is it Photoshopped?  Um… I don’t know.  All I know is the kid really looks like the Toy Story kid.  It seems like something someone could do fairly easily in Photoshop, but my knowledge of Photoshop is mainly limited to adding cats and putting Vince Vaughn eating an ice cream cone into the background (he’s everywhere!).  Anyway, fun picture.  But still not nearly as cute as the real-life kid from Up.  I would kidnap the sh*t out of that kid.  What?  I mean I would use him for pickin’ up chicks.  No, you’re weird.
