It’s that time of year again, folks. First we decorate a tree with tinsel, next we decorate WORDS AND THINGS WITH NUMBERS NEXT TO THEM! IT’S LIST TIME, OOH WHA-AH AH-AH! Anyway, while I busy myself compiling my ten best of 2010 list (TRY NOT TO GNAW OFF YOUR ARM IN ANTICIPATION!), here’s a more fact-y list for you to chew on, the highest-grossing films of 2010. You know, if you’re into that kind of thing. BOOM, IT’S TIME TO GET LINEAR!
10. Clash of the Titans, $493.2 million worldwide
9. How to Train Your Dragon, $494.9 worldwide
8. Despicable Me, $539.9 million
7. Iron Man 2, $582.2 million
6. Twilight Saga: Eclipse, $693.5 million
5. Shrek Forever After: $739.8 million
4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. $824.1
3. Inception, $825.4
2. Alice in Wonderland, $1 billion
1. Toy Story 3, $1.1 billion [via THR]
All in all, not so bad. Sure, Clash of the Titans and Twilight got in there (and Shrek 4, really?), but out of the ten, a good three or four of them were actually decent movies. Here’s the top 10 of 2009 for comparison:
