I know that for people who don’t enjoy Tim and Eric, Tim and Eric are basically the antichrist. So to those people, go grab a bagel or something, and meet us back here in an hour. For the rest of us…. EEEEEEEEEEEEE! Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie has a trailer. Me too much excited for write. Here, make bullet point list:

  • Robert Loggia cutting off an old lady’s finger
  • “Chef Goldblum”
  • Dick forehead (James Franco may sue)
  • Guy exploding a la Brian De Palma’s The Fury (aka the best scene of all time)
  • Taquito!!
  • Shrim

That’s right, some of the best selling points for Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar movie include “taquito” and “shrim,” and I’m not going to try to defend that at all. This looks awesome.

Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie gets distributor

03.14.11 Written by Vince Mancini

tim-and-eric-drag

I first told you about Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie starring John C. Reilly when it was still in the just-a-rumor stage. Five minutes after that, a bunch of people sent me links to casting calls and other proof that it was real to confirm. I meant to post an update to tell you about it, but you know how it goes (*pantomimes glug, glug, glug*).  And now, I don’t have to write an update because there’s been an official announcement.  See? Drinking solves everything.

A quasi-spinoff of their popular television series “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!”, the film’s plot finds the pair given a billion dollars to create their own film with complications rapidly ensuing.

With 2929 Productions, Gary Sanchez Productions (run by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy) is producing through its “Funny or Die Films” adjunct banner. GSP has produced such films as The Goods, The Foot Fist Way and the Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg cop comedy The Other Guys. [ComingSoon]

Tim and Eric posts tend to be some of my most polarizing.  People who don’t find them funny tend to want to hit them with hammers.  It’s understandable, they could probably be a little less weird-for-weird’s-sake. I tend to think their good stuff is really good, and when it doesn’t work it really bombs, but I see that as a necessary side effect of trying to do something weird, which is sort of the only way comedy can grow, and without that, it’s just everyone standing around doing Johnny Carson impressions.  And yes, I’ve spent entirely too much time discussing comedy with other comedians.  All I know is that the more John C. Reilly is involved, the more excited for this I get.  That man is a rumpled shar pei of comedic brilliance.

A Tim & Eric movie with John C. Reilly?

02.23.11 Written by Vince Mancini

Tim-And-Eric-TheTerrys

There are rumors on the internets of a possible Tim & Eric feature film starring John C. Reilly.  I’m not here to tell you whether those are true or not because I don’t know, but what I can do is hold your hand and jump and down because YAY THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!

Fresh off their Sundance short, The Terrys [trailer after the jump], there’s a rumor circulating on the Tracking Board that Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are putting together a film called Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie. It would star the two comedians, best known for their recently ended Cartoon Network show Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, in a “comedy adventure” about them owing one billion dollars. John C. Reilly, who has not only appeared on the Awesome Show but also spawned his own Tim and Eric spin-off, Check it Out With Dr. Steve Brule, is rumored to co-star as a character named Taquito.

Steve-brule-inside-outIn the tentative words of Derek Zoolander, “…sounds cool.”  John C. Reilly is a God.

Because this comes from the Tracking Board, we’ve qualified this news as a rumor. This list of stars supposedly in talks to appear in the film should also be considered a rumor: Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Bob Odenkirk, Harrison Ford and Will Forte. Galifianakis, Odenkirk and Forte regularly appeared on the Awesome Show so they make sense. Ferrell would produce with Adam McKay and their Gary Sanchez Productions. I’m not sure how Harrison Ford fits in but, it sounds great. [/film]

Maybe Harrison Ford could play a weird old guy who dances around?  Tim and Eric seem to be big on those.  Anyway, definitely a huge rumor, but still exciting.  It’s hard to explain your excitement for a Tim & Eric project, because their comedy is always 2% concept and 98% getting really stoned in the editing room.  Yes, this is a story about them owing a billion dollars, but at it’s heart it could be 45 psychedelic minutes of an old black man dipping his nuts in a bowl of oatmeal.  And it would probably be awesome.

Apatow producing Paul Rudd script

05.12.10 Written by Vince Mancini

I was looking for any excuse to post the “Paul Rudd’s Computer” Tim & Eric video (attached below), and now I have it.   That’s because Judd Apatow is producing a script co-written by Rudd in which Jennifer Aniston is attached to star.  Hey, Hollywood Reporter, can you work the title into a lazy play on words for me?

Universal is experiencing some “Wanderlust.”

The studio has picked up a comedy project with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd attached to star. Judd Apatow will produce.  Rudd will write the script with Ken Marino and David Wain, who will also direct. Rudd, Marino and Wain will also produce.  The story line follows a married couple who tries to escape modern society and ends up in a hippie commune.  Universal hopes to start production in the fall.

David Wain directed Wet Hot American Summer and Role Models, which he also co-wrote with Rudd and Ken Marino– who also stars in the criminally under the radar Party Down.  I guess what I’m saying is that my comedy boner is all ready to go, all you have to do is rub it a little.  Oh right, Jennifer Aniston.  Yeah, she’s usually one note and tends to play every comedy scene as either exasperated or shrill.  But that’s just how women are, isn’t it?  In my experience, their only emotions are “shrill”, “exasperated”, “unconscious,” and “shoppin’”.
