It’s a big week for DVD releases as a bunch of the holiday season heavy hitters are now available for your home viewing pleasure.  Today sees the release of both The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey as well as Zero Dark Thirty, and in a few days both Les Misérables and This Is 40 come out as well. But wait, there’s more:  We’ve also got movies starring Lizzy Caplan, Luke Wilson, Parker Posey, and Haley Joel Osment.  We’ve got bachelorettes and shadow people, and also legless whale trainers and kickboxers. We’ve even got rust and bone.  All that and some cartoon lesbians as well!

Universal just released the full-length trailer for Judd Apatow’s This is 40 (opening December 21st), and obviously, since this is a website dedicated to the serious discussion of cinema-films and their place in the annals of celluloid museums art, I tried to pick a screencap that was central to the plot, which just so happens to deal with MEGAN FOX BRA AND PANTIES TAKING HER CLOTHES OFF UPSKIRT LESBIAN KITTENS GOOGLE! and has nothing whatsoever to do with cheap, callow traffic whoring. So as long as we’re clear on that, you can go ahead and click through to see the trailer below, which, just to reiterate, involves Megan Fox taking her clothes off, ie, Megan Fox in her bra and panties getting almost naked, with pictures included of Megan Fox in her underpants probably about to do lesbian stuff.

Knocked Up Number Two!

Here’s the first poster for Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up spinoff, This is 40, starring Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd (trailer here). If I’m not mistaken, this image is a reverse of the scene in Knocked Up where Leslie Mann is taking a dump while Paul Rudd brushes his teeth. And then of course there’s the famous poop scene in Bridesmaids, a scene supposedly championed by Bridesmaids producer, you guessed it, Judd Apatow. Because to Judd Apatow, marriage means someone’s always taking a poop.

Though the iPad part does hit a little close to home. Does the iPad have a taking-a-dump setting where you can hold it flat on your lap without the picture trying to reorient? It really should. “iPad: It’s the shitter newspaper of the future!”

After the jump, I’ve got the trailer for Judd Apatow’s This is 40, the sort-of sequel to Knocked Up focusing on Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann’s characters, Pete and Debbie (sidenote: no one cool is ever named Debbie). Leslie Mann is of course Judd Apatow’s wife in real life, and his real daughters Maude and Iris play their kids. So basically this is like a non-porn version of one of those cuckolding videos, where Judd Apatow films Paul Rudd banging his wife, only instead of banging they just argue and do crossword puzzles and pop each other’s backne. Yes, that is how I imagine every relationship over 40.
