The Spirit has a final poster, and surprise! It has a couple other colors besides black, white, and red (and yes I know black and white technically aren’t colors, but shut up, no one likes you).  It actually incorporates all the previous posters into this one.  It’s so arty, so meta, so… dismissive wank motion worthy.  By the way, who the hell is the target audience for those enormous billboards?  The people walking down that dark, cobblestone alley?  Seems like a poor use advertising budget if you ask me.

As you can see, the new Coraline poster is out.  If this movie were about me, the room with all the light spilling out would be full of hot chicks peeing.  What?  It’s erotic.

The Spirit (trailer, previous posters) has a new poster out and in a totally shocking move, it’s red and white on a black background.  The Frank Miller-directed film is also sponsoring a fan-made poster contest.

I’m not sure why it’s all in caps.  Maybe they let Sam Jackson write the contest rules.  Anyway, my entry is just a black and white picture of me making a wanking motion with my arm painted red.  With “So…?” written on my cheek.

As I’ve been over, The Spirit looks like an ungodly mix of Vaudeville slapstick and neo-noir graphic novel movies.  One thing it does have going for it, however, is that scene in the trailer where Eva Mendes drops her towel (see above).  Lest you be tempted to see a PG-13 movie for the promise of a few seconds of nudity – and who hasn’t been there – I’ll save you the trouble.  You can see the relevant frames here (sort of NWS, I guess). A bare ass, hooray.  I’ll admit, she’s got a pretty nice ass, but big deal.  Mine would look just like that if I shaved and got a tan.

Wow, that was awesome. Nothing pairs with a cheesy superhero movie from the 30s like hard-boiled narration and artistic pretensions. This is gonna be the best thing since Batman & Robin. (I’ve included a clip of that after the jump for comparison)
