WORST POSTER EVER? WORST POSTER EVER.

Floating head poster guy really did a number on this new poster for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.  As /Film points out, what most likely happened here was that the poster artist came up with the uninspired yet not terrible idea of a silhouette of two guys fighting on the poster.  Then some exec came in (and keep in mind the distributor is Fox, whose execs all have fetal alcohol syndrome) and decided, Wait! We can’t have a poster without stars in it!  Never mind that we didn’t actually spend enough money to hire stars!  We need people to walk by this and say, ‘Hey! Isn’t that that black guy? And that dude who used to date Katie Holmes?  And that one bitch from that one show?  Together at last — it’s like a dream come true!’

They needed the marketing campaign to reflect that it’s like playing outdated video games and watching the WB at the same time. Tagline: Street Fighter – It’s like being unemployed.

STREET FIGHTER TRAILER: NEEDS MORE RAPPERS

12.29.08 Written by Vince Mancini

I know how eagerly we’ve all been awaiting a Street Fighter movie, especially since they hired the director of Cradle 2 the Grave and Doom, plus a dancer from the Black Eye Peas to play Vega.  Wire fighting?  Chris Klein? I couldn’t not see this!  Anyway, here’s the newly released Japanese trailer for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.  You can tell it’s serious because of the opera-singing in the background.  Opera is pretty much the rap-rock of classical music genres.  OOOH WHA AA AA-AA!

CHUN-LI NEEDS A THIGHMASTER

12.03.08 Written by Vince Mancini

These are the latest pictures of Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, the legendary auteur behind Doom and Cradle 2 the Grave (notice how it’s not called Cradle 2 Tha Grave?  That’s called restraint.).  Now, anyone who’s played Street Fighter knows Chun-Li’s defining characteristic was her muscular yet shapely thighs, and that in the background of Guile’s level there was a guy who looked like he was jacking off.  I always thought of Chun-Li is more of an Asian Gina Carano, someone who could put you in a rear-naked choke and you’d be thankful for the privilege.  Kristin Kreuk on the other hand has model legs, and just does not strike me as a girl who could take a punch.  And as someone who often gets punched for being girly, I think I know a little something about girls who can take a punch.

NEW PICS FROM CRAPPY STREET FIGHTER MOVIE

07.31.08 Written by Vince Mancini

A new batch of pictures from Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li has hit the web.  It’s probably going to suck a lot because there’s a guy from the Black Eyed Peas in it

In this picture, I believe Michael Clarke Duncan (as Balrog) is saying, "Motherf*cker, what part of ‘mine-o, not yours-o’ don’t you understand?" or possibly, "Don’t you ever touch a black man’s Quizno’s flatbread Sammie!"

VEGA WILL BE EDGY, HARDCORE, WILL BRING IT

06.05.08 Written by Vince Mancini

Here’s Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas assuring us that when he plays Vega in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, he ain’t gonna be some kinda homo like in the videogame.  He is after all a rapper-slash-dancer.  Real, consider yourself kept.
