FILMDRUNK WEEK IN REVIEW

09.05.08 Written by RoboPanda

Just in case you’re some kind of taintbadger who doesn’t come here every day, here’s some of what you missed this week:

The Dark Knight passed the half-billion mark, and I passed half a chipotle burrito so there.

16-year-old Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson tells us what really makes her taco pop.

Pour a little of your drank out for Don LaFontaine, the movie trailer voiceover guy.

I shouldn’t still be laughing at Kermit Bale but I am.

Some people say The Big Lebowski is ten years old now.  Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

Red band trailer for Zack & Miri Make a Porno sure to offend somebody I don’t like.

New trailer for Max Payne almost makes me forget it’s Marky Mark.  Feel it feel it.

Sticky Fingaz made a rap musical well worth watching.

Women be shoppin’.

Elmo be cursin’.

STICKY FINGAZ MADE A RAP MUSICAL

09.04.08 Written by Vince Mancini

A Day in the Life (amazing, must-watch trailer after the jump) is a hip hop musical written, directed and starring Sticky Fingaz, formerly of Onyx. All dialog is delivered via rap. It doesn’t appear Eminem’s in this, but if he was, he could totally re-use that line about Mekhi Phifer from 8 Mile.

Roger Ebert says, “This movie runs the train on Mamma Mia. SLAM! Dunt dodda, dunt dodda LET THE BOYS BE BOYS!”

FIRST TRAILER FOR MAX PAYNE

07.10.08 Written by Vince Mancini

Max Payne is a videogame that was heavily influenced by John Woo movies, with a plot very similar to the Crow (junkies kill main character’s wife and daughter during a home invasion, main character vows revenge on the drug ring responsible).  The main differences are that Max Payne isn’t dead, and the mob he’s tracking is more into the Satanic/supernatural.

The movie adaptation stars Mark Wahlberg and was directed by John Moore.  Just to recap, it’s a movie based on a videogame based on movies.  And the director was previously responsible for a remake of The Omen, Flight of the Phoenix, and Behind Enemy Lines.  But I’m sure it will be good because Sticky Fingaz is in it.  He’s like the Al Pacino of early 90s rappers.

Oh hey, who wants to guess what colors the poster for this will be?
