Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Beat Sacha Baron Cohen With Crowbars For ‘Anchorman 2′

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.08.13

One of the biggest complaints of the religiously loyal fans (*points to self*) of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is that a sequel would have impossibly large alligator-skin shoes to fill. But that didn’t stop Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and the rest of the News Team from suiting up and accepting their invitations to the pants party for Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

So what do you do when you have bigger shoes to fill? You add bigger feet. In this case, those feet belong to longtime Ferrell friends Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and his Talladega Nights co-star Sacha Baron Cohen. A picture made the rounds earlier this week suggesting that Fey and Poehler might be involved, because there were two women, one with brown hair and the other blonde, filming a scene in Atlanta, but now new images from the set have surfaced and there they are – beating Cohen with crowbars.

Fey, Poehler and Cohen join Anchorman newcomers Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, Kristen Wiig and (supposedly) John C. Reilly.

Here’s Dane DeHaahn as James Franco in Amazing Spider-Man 2

Written by Vince Mancini / 04.22.13

Here’s the first official picture of Dane DeHaahn, taking over the Harry Osborn role in Spider-Man B/2 (aka The Amazing Spider-Man 2), which is out May 2nd, 2014, and stars Jamie Foxx as Electro with Marc Webb making an ill-advised return to the director’s chair.

DeHaan plays Harry Osborn, the character played by James Franco in Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man trilogy that soon took up after his father and went all Green Goblin on the city. There is no word, only rumors, as to whether or not Osborn will don the Goblin suit in this latest installment, but my assumption is he won’t.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released in theaters on May 2, 2014 and finds Andrew Garfield returning as Peter Parker, whose life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. [RopeofSilicon]

I don’t have enough juice left in my inhaler to speculate as to what kind of Harry Osborn Dehaahn will play, but it’s interesting that ever since his memorable turn in Chronicle, he’s been Hollywood’s go-to guy whenever they need a kid to be broody and complex. They even smoothed out his hair, so unlike Chronicle or Place Beyond the Pines, we’ll finally get to see if he’s got the acting chops, or if it was just his unkempt scalp doing all the work all this time. He’s like a little porcelain hobo doll. He still has a ways to go yet in terms of disheveled charm, but he’s young. As of now, on a scale of one to Sam Rockwell, I’d rate him a half Ruffalo.

Emma Stone Looks Very Purple On The Set Of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′

Written by Ashley Burns / 03.12.13

To his credit, director Marc Webb has been trying to build some buzz around The Amazing Spider-Man 2 by Tweeting one set photo every day that the film is in production. While some qualify as ominous – like showing the locker that Venom comes from – others are seemingly meaningless, like a guy planking on a dolly. Hell, the best part about Webb’s tweets are seeing the responses of one seemingly crazy Emma Stone fan, but again, he’s just trying to stir some interaction with fans for the sequel to his lackluster first effort.

But Webb isn’t giving us the good stuff, namely the set photos of Emma Stone, reprising her role as Peter Parker’s main squeeze, Gwen Stacy. Finally, though, photos have been popping up of Stone and Shailene Woodley, who plays Mary Jane Watson, as their characters meet for the first time. And nothing against Woodley – I’m sure she’s a lovely girl with a great personality – but Gwen Stacy looks like Emma Stone.

Maybe if she looked like Emma Thompson, Mary Jane would stand a chance, but if I’m expected to believe that Spidey is really torn between these girls, well, they better cram a few more villains into the film to distract me.

PICTURED: Sofia Vergara filming a sex scene with Sharon Stone

Written by Vince Mancini / 11.30.12

Friends, I love nothing more than writing intelligent parody, critical analysis, and cultural criticism for you, and I hope that’s what keeps you coming back, but every once in a while I’m more than content to let the content flash its boobs and soak up page-views speak for itself. Here’s Sofia Vergara’s magnificent, lace-covered breasts in New York yesterday, where she was filming Fading Gigolo with Sharon Stone, which is being directed by John Turturro, and co-stars Woody Allen and Liev Schrieber. Sweet, all the pervs are here.

Fioravante decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend, Murray. With Murray acting as his “manager”, the duo quickly finds themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money.

Every time Sharon Stone films a sex scene, I have to wonder if it involves a bathtub full of pee. Maybe she got nicer after her husband got bit by a Komodo dragon? I don’t know. Also, has anyone seen Romance & Cigarettes, John Turturro’s musical with James Gandolfini? It looked… strange. Anyway, long-story short, BOOBS! BOOBS! BOOBS! BOOBS! BOOBS! BOOBS! (*puts on foam cowboy hat, dances jig, fires two pistols into the air, which light a giant banner made of sparklers reading “BOOBS!” as skywriter flies by in biplane*)

Also, question for Spanish speakers: “Verga” is Spanish slang for penis. So couldn’t “Vergara” be taken to mean “penis handler” or “one who works with penises?” “Penis charmer,” perhaps? These are the things that keep me up at night.

10 incredible high-res, behind-the-scenes Photos from Kill Bill 1

Written by Vince Mancini / 09.25.12

"So I says to my boyfriend, 'how bout a little head?'"

A couple weeks ago, Miramax released 10 brand new, HD photographs from the set of There Will Be Blood, in honor of the first screenings of Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master. I don’t know what the occasion is this time, but my grandpa always told me never to punch a gift whore in the mouth, so I’m just happy to repost these 10 behind-the-scenes, high-res photos from Kill Bill Volume 1. A lot of people will tell you that Kill Bill 2 was better than Kill Bill 1, but to me that suggests that David Carradine doing 10-minute monologs about Superman is better than gratuitous, bloody swordplay, which is why the Kill Bill 2 people can suck rocks.

Also, when I was writing the photo description for this picture, I accidentally typed “Lisa Ling” instead of “Lucy Liu.” Does that make me racist, or were those two chicks just specifically designed to be confused for each other? Discuss.
