Nic Cage has been announced as the star in Season of the Witch, for which he’ll reteam with Gone in 60 Seconds director Dominic Sena.

Cage plays a 14th century knight transporting a girl suspected of being the witch behind the Black Plague. His compatriots help him bring the girl to an abbey of monks trained in exorcising demons. [THR]

My only hope is that they attempt to burn her at the stake and it goes wrong, leading Cage to stand around shouting “Why won’t she burn?  WHY WON’T SHE BURN? WHYWON’TSHEBURNWHYWON’TSHEBURN!“
