HE HEARTS RAY LIOTTA

12.03.08 Written by Vince Mancini

You might not think this video about how to annoy people at the gym is film-related, but you’d be wrong.  Because one of the things the guy returns to the lost and found is a piece of paper that says “I heart Ray Liotta”.  So there.  Now it’s film related.  And it’s funny, so shut up.

Little known fact: Ray Liotta doesn’t go to the gym.  But he spends 20 minutes every morning grimacing at his pock marks.

CRASH SUCKED, YOU A-HOLES.

11.13.08 Written by Vince Mancini

Crossing Over is another Crash clone set in the intense boiling racial melting pot cauldron of Los Angeles, where caricatures from all over the world come to get caught up in a series of sensationalistic vignettes about important social issues.  Can Indiana Jones solve the immigration problem?  Not if Henry Hill has anything to say about it.  Who will emerge triumphant??  The viewer!*

*Not really.

BATTLE IN SEATTLE

04.09.08 Written by Vince Mancini

Starring Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Charlize Theron, and Michelle Rodriguez (who’ll win an Oscar as soon as they add a category for Most Hardcore Latina), Battle in Seattle combines original broadcasts and amateur video with filmed footage to tell the story of the WTO riots in Seattle. Also, the title totally rhymes!

It’s a compelling subject that poses the age-old question: In a fight between cops and hippies, who do you root for?

I don’t have the answer for that, but I can tell you that there’s a boob around the 46 second mark – hey, man, I’m a lover, not a fighter. Unless you’re trying to cover up some boobs, in which case I will fucking cut you.

REVOLVER TRAILER: CAN RITCHIE UN-DURST?

11.12.07 Written by Vince Mancini

(Revolver Opening Title Sequence)

Watch the trailer for Revolver here

After Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch (love Mickey, but Lock Stock is the superior movie), Guy Ritchie durst spectacularly with his Madonna-starring remake of Swept Away (which, at 5% recommended on RT, was even more universally reviled than Lady in the Water and The Number 23).

We haven’t heard much from him since, when he was presumably helping his wife with her British accent and telling his sister Nicole to stop being so much of a whore.  Here he’s back with Revolver, his first film set in the states, starring Jason “Moy naime is Chev Chelios…” Statham, Ray Liotta, André “3000” Benjamin, and Vincent “Gaping Vagina” Pastore. It looks like he’s ripping off Usual Suspects instead of Tarantino this time.  According to IMDB, Harvey Keitel, Vinnie Jones, and Mickey Rourke all turned down roles. (And Guy Ritchie is dyslexic)

Apparently, this has been out for two years in the rest of the world, but is set for limited release in the U.S. December 7th (To commemorate the 56th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, perhaps?).  Reviews like, "I can’t remember another time in my film-watching career where I sincerely hated a movie … one of the worst films ever made," probably had something to do with the delay.
