KATE WINSLET IS A NAZI

If you’ll remember, The Reader was the movie that caused the big fight between Les Grossman look-alikes Harvey Weinstein and Scott Rudin – a Jewhaha, if you will.  The movie will be out January 9th (not in time for awards season like Harvey wanted) and the trailer just hit today.

It stars Ralph Fiennes as a German who discovers the older woman (Kate Winslet) who touched his ding dong when he was younger is on trial for being a member of the SS.  She liked it when he read to her – from “The Odyssey”, “Huck Finn”, and “The Lady with the Little Dog” – hence the title.  It was adapted from the book by Bernhard Schlink.  Meanwhile, The Lady with the Little Dog was adapted into a critically acclaimed film starring Linda Lovelace.

SEE COLIN FARRELL KARATE CHOP A MIDGET

11.26.07 Written by Vince Mancini

Check out the new trailer for In Bruges, starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson  – about two Irish hitmen raising hell in Belgium.  In limited US release February 8th.

When you’re a cynical pessimistic bastard like myself (the cup is half full – of piss), it’s not that often that you get excited about a movie trailer. But this one made me smile. Perhaps it’s because they use the F-word so many times, and even the C-word a couple. Or maybe it’s just that old feeling I get when I see Colin Farrell karate chop a midget. Yeah, that’s probably it. In the words of FilmDrunkard JHC, In my head, fighting a bunch of midgets would be like rolling around with a group of puppies. It’s fun at first, but then their breath makes you nauseous and you hurt ‘em on purpose so they’ll leave you alone.  Truer words may never have been spoken.

Frankly, I never thought I’d see the day when a movie set in Belgium didn’t make reference to Van Damme.  They should make this a national holiday.  You know, if they’re not too busy sitting around on their lazy asses eating waffles.
