The new Avengers banners were boring, needed more happy Captain America

01.27.12 Written by Vince Mancini

"Guys! Guys! I brought weed and pizza rolls!"

Marvel.com just released a batch of five new stills from The Avengers, and if these are any indication, the film will surely satisfy those fans desperate to see the Avengers staring intently at things and/or each other. Sarcasm aside, these were all incredibly boring. Everyone looked all serious and dour, so I thought they needed a dose of Chris Evans as Captain America, our little ray of sunshine. He’s such a rascal! (more after the jump)

Alternate Posters for the Expendables

11.23.11 Written by Vince Mancini

It’s a slow news day, so I thought that under the circumstances, this alternate poster for The Expendables 2 that “johnymyko” left in the comments section of my This Week in Posters post warranted recognition. Great job, dude. (It’s also kind of interesting to note that some nameless Asian chick made the poster while Liam Hemsworth and Randy Couture did not — as first noted by our friends at Fightlinker).

Oh, and he inspired me to make a few alternate posters of my own. (Yes, they all involve pepper spray).

What if we replaced the star-studded cast of New Year’s Eve with Terrence Howard in different hats?

10.19.11 Written by Vince Mancini

Probably no one will enjoy this parody poster I made for New Year’s Eve so much as I enjoyed making it myself, but that’s okay. It’s about the journey.

New Year’s Eve stars Jon Bon Jovi, Ludacris, Robert DeNiro, and Katherine Heigl. What MY poster preSUPPOSES is… what if it just starred Terrence Howard wearing different hats?”

That’s a ten times better movie. Say what you will about Terrence Howard, the dude can really wear a hat.

Probably the Best Poster in the History of the Universe

08.11.11 Written by Vince Mancini

Kinobild Releasing just released the first poster for And They’re Off, starring the box office molten lava combo of Cheri Oteri and Sean Astin (GET THOSE NAMES ABOVE THE TITLE IMMEDIATELY!). And what better way to promote such a movie, I ask, than a poster in which Sean Astin leans casually on the hind quarters of a nine-foot tall thoroughbred while his feet hover mysteriously, majestically above the turf grass? Heck, I’m already sold. But then there’s that tagline.

“He was so far behind, he thought he was in first.”

I guess what you’re saying is, he’s kind of like the Rudy of horses.
