This week on the Frotcast, our old friend, San Francisco comedian Matt Louv (The Museum of Comedy) drops by to read us more of his award-winning Rejected OKCupid Emails, and, even better, a concerned letter he received from his mom following his last appearance. It’s pretty great. In addition, we discuss some of the ol’ movie news, including John Travolta’s new music video, and Matt’s take on Beasts of the Southern Wild. Then Ben explains the plot of all those awards-season movies that you may have missed.

We answer your listener questions about marriage proposals and you friends who won’t play video games with you anymore (keep the questions coming!), and rank the ideal poop. Enjoy. And come see me and Matt riff on Invaders from Mars next Friday at Lost Weekend Video.

Check out the brand-new Frotcast.com to buy the Chicago Frotcast download ($1) or Ben’s limited-edition t-shirt featuring Bret’s squirrel painting.

I guess as time has passed, the legend has grown stronger and more people have come to appreciate just how amazing of a film it is, but for a long time it really seemed like Mars Attacks was one of the most underrated and underappreciated movies of all-time. Released in 1996, Mars Attacks is Tim Burton’s hilarious tale of an angry race of aliens that tries to conquer Earth, and it features arguably the greatest comedic ensemble cast of the last billion years, give or take an eon. For those reasons, I will try to find any reason to talk about this great movie, and thankfully someone provided an excuse this week.

A Redditor by the name of “warrhamster” created a thread entitled, “Let’s see how long till I get banned” on Wednesday, and knowing some Redditors and people on the Internet in general, that’s a pretty vague and terrifying statement. Luckily, once you open it, you’re greeted by a screen grab of a remarkable fake okcupid account for “MarsAmbassador”.
