SUPERCUT: ‘Squint Eastwood’ Celebrates Clint Eastwood’s Mastery Of Confused Reaction Shots

Written by Ashley Burns / 01.31.13

Always the prankster, Clint could never turn down a game of “Grab Oscar’s D*ck”.

Clint Eastwood has only been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor two times in his career, and he unfortunately remains 0-for-2 in that category. Sure, he’s won two Oscars for Best Director, one for Million Dollar Baby and the other for Metallica’s The Unforgiven, and both of those films also earned the Academy Awards for Best Picture, but Eastwood has still never captured the industry’s highest honor for a thespian. Of course, many wonder if he’ll ever have another chance since he ain’t getting any younger at the ripe, old age of 82.

But a lot of critics might suggest that Eastwood has always been a one-trick pony with his scowling tough guy routine, and I’d argue that it was that very routine that should have earned him the Best Actor Oscar in 1992 over Al Pacino’s shouting blind man from Scent of a Woman. Alas, that was 20 years or almost one full Kate Upton ago, and I’m in a celebratory mood, as opposed to my standard scowling young guy mood. Thankfully, Slacktory’s Brian Menegus tossed together a tribute to Eastwood’s signature facial expression, entitled “Squint Eastwood” and now you can relive all of his best moments in one 3-minute video.

NASTY OLD PEOPLE

Written by Vince Mancini / 10.12.09

This is the trailer for Nasty Old People, which, according to BoingBoing is “the first feature film in Swedish history to be released under a Creative Commons license.”  I don’t really know what that means, but apparently you can download it for free legally from The Pirate Bay.  It sounds pretty typical for a Scandinavian film — death, nazis, etc.

Mette is a member of a neo-Nazi gang, her day job is to take care of four crazy old people that all are just waiting to die. Her life becomes a journey into a burlesque fairytale, where the rules of the game are created by Mette herself. Mette is indifferent about her way of life, until she one night assaults a man, kicking him senseless. Waking up the day after, she realizes that something is wrong, and in company with the her crazy oldies she longs for respect and love. She can tell that the old folks are marginalized by the modern society, but together they create a world and a voice of their own.

Hard to get a real feel from it from the trailer. Mainly I just posted it because it had nazis and old people watching porno.  Plus the trailer shows the nazi chick in a bath tub, and it’s a foreign film so you know you’ll get to see her naked lots. I don’t really understand what neo-Nazis in Scandinavia do. Do they just march around going, “You know who we hate?  The dark people we’ve read about in books!”  It’s like someone from Alabama complaining about the Jews.
