"And with these I can shake Jeremy's hand and not catch the gay?"

In Theaters Everywhere: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, Young Adult, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked

FilmDrunk Suggests: There’s a little bit of everything for you movie hounds this weekend, and while I suggest that you make your own decisions in life, puppet master Vince reminds you that Young Adult was decent enough, but his money is on a HUGE second weekend for New Year’s Eve.

Mission Impossible 4 Used Fancy Cameras

11.18.11 Written by Burnsy

"Wait, you're what?"

Paramount Pictures U.K. recently invited a group of journalists and people who are easily impressed to a screening of exclusive footage from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol so they could show off all the neat-o cameras that they used. I’m sure many a monocle shattered on the floor that night.

Director Brad Bird boasted that the fourth installment of the watch-Tom-Cruise-sprint-like-a-ninny spy franchise marked the first time that an action film like this had been made for IMAX. Then someone presented him with a shiny new trophy and a whole batch of cookies before crowning him the most amazing man in the world.

Other footage shown included a chase scene amid a desert sandstorm, Cruise’s Hunt character scaling the world’s tallest building in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa building and Cruise and Renner playing opposite Tom Wilkinson as he learns of his mission.

It is set to roll out globally Dec. 26 this year and will be seen in hand-picked large format screens in the U.K. including IMAX, VUE Xtreme, Empire Impact and Cineworld Superscreen from Dec. 21.

(Via The Hollywood Reporter)

After the jump, you can check out the extended international trailer for MI4, as it features most of these scenes and then you can high five your bro and have a push-up contest.

This Week in Posters: SQUEEEEEE, ROBOT DOLPHINS!

09.15.11 Written by Vince Mancini

This week in This Week in Posters: we’ve got a bundle of new Harold and Kumar Posters, Mission Impossible IV, Margin Call, Katherine Heigl rears her ugly head, and most importantly, DOLPHIN TALE! Enjoy.

Holy. Sh*t. Now, I know most of you probably aren’t as excited for this movie as I am (see also: my favorite gif), but between the little boy touching the robot-tailed dolphin’s nose in an homage to the Sistine Chapel and the delightful German translation (“HERR DOKTOR! FIX MEIN FREUND DER DELFIN! FIX MEIN DELFIN VIST EINE SCHPROCKETS!!“), this poster made me squeal so hard I nearly passed out. THE DOLPHIN’S BIONIC TALE HELPS TO INSPIRE INJURED SOLDIERS! A NE’ER-DO-WELL GETS A SECOND CHANCE AND A LITTLE BOY LEARNS THE POWER OF LOVE! THANK YOU, MARINE BIOLOGIST HARRY CONNICK JR.!

“Nach der wunderbaren, ze liefenchangen dem delfin!”

“Nein! Dem delfin eez MEINliefenchangen!”

(*sprockets dance*)

Mark my words, this is going to be the movie of the year. Dolphin Tale is going to be so inspirational it makes Seabiscuit look like a Dogme movie. (thanks to Stinky Peet for the fake German)

08.23.11 Written by Vince Mancini

Paramount released this new publicity still from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, starring Tom Cruise, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner, from director Brad Bird (Ratatouille), opening December 21st. Here we see Cruise’s Ethan Hunt grilling Renner’s Brandt on whether there are indeed gays in there.

This Christmas… Justice wears white pants.

The official Mission Impossible 4 trailer

06.29.11 Written by Vince Mancini

The trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (one colon, one dash, no number) just hit the web, and it has all the thrills, chills, and Eminem rapping about Tom Cruise one could possibly hope for. Directed by Brad Bird of the awesome The Incredibles and Ratatouille, this one stars Cruise (you may remember him doing his own stunts on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai) alongside Jeremy Renner, with Josh Holloway, Tom Wilkinson, and Simon Pegg in supporting roles. The actress attached to the boobs below is Paula Patton.  She looks nice, but frankly I think this could’ve used a spicy Latina or two.  I bet when Michael Bay saw Tom Cruise rappelling down the tallest building in the world on the same day his movie about Josh Duhamel wingsuiting off the Sears Tower hits theaters, he crushed the Monster Energy Drink he’d been sipping, stroked the purring snow leopard in his lap, and silently swore revenge.
