Tyler Perry’s Oprah video is ‘so funny!!!’ according to Tyler Perry

Written by Vince Mancini / 04.05.13

This morning I received an email telling me: “You have got to see Tyler Perry’s Madea looks for OWN in The Color Purple. This is so funny!!!”

The email came from Tyler Perry himself, so I figured it must be true. After all, Tyler Perry has never steered me wrong on comedy before, especially as it relates to the comedy of Tyler Perry. Why should this be any different? I mean a MAN, dressed as a WOMAN? Who ever heard of such a thing! Haha, LOL!

The Immortals trailer: Tarsem Singh, men in skirts

Written by Vince Mancini / 04.27.11

Director Tarsem Singh deserves to be a lot more well known solely on the basis of the swimming-elephant scene in The Fall (just imagining the logistics of that make me happy), which was a surprisingly good movie. I say surprisingly because his previous film was The Cell.  Singh’s latest is Immortals, starring Mickey Rourke in whatever the hell that is in the banner picture.  It looks if the bunny from Donnie Darko turned into a snap dragon and opened up to reveal Mickey Rourke’s face, which I imagine is the kind of hallucination that would put you off whatever drug had induced it.  Immortals looks like your basic, The-gods-are-angry-at-the-shirtless-men-in-skirts premise, but at least with Singh directing, you know it will look neat. It takes a lot to impress with visuals alone in this day and age, and Singh is one of the few who can manage it. Oh, and there seems to be a fight scene that takes place in some sort of gravity-free, Sistine Monty Python-esque sky purgatory. What the hell? This movie looks bonkers

ZAK PENN WRITING 300′S FIFTH SEQUEL

Written by Vince Mancini / 08.12.08

Jason and the Argonauts, get it? Nevermind.

20th Century Fox (isn’t it time for a name change?) has hired Zak Penn (Incredible Hulk, X2 and 3) to write Jason and the Argonauts.  They’re betting that even after a 300 prequel, a movie from Louis Leterrier, Clash of the TitansGods of War from Brett Ratner, and three Hercules movies including Peter Berg’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars (all currently in development), your appetite for men in skirts will not be sated.

Why not, I mean, Troy was a big hit, right?  Though I doubt this Jason will be as good as the porno version I saw once.  The Golden Fleece was a chick with blonde pubes.
