Ever wondered what would happen if you put the biggest pop culture events of the last year into a blender and then poured the resulting sludge through a filter of dyslexic, unfunny moronity?

Meet the Spartans opens this Friday.  The people who financed this should be shot.  And perhaps tortured first.  That is all.

The poster for Meet the Spartans has hit the web, and it’s everything we’ve come to expect (you can watch the trailer here, if you hate yourself).

The tagline?  “The Bigger The Hit The Harder They Fall.”  Okay, number 1?  If that sentence made it past more than four people you should all kill yourselves.  “The hit” is singular, hence you can’t use a plural pronoun, “they”, to describe it. It’s like saying “The man over there, they is retarded.” Number 2? Ooh, you really burned all those successful movies by playing D-list actor dress-up party.  Don’t bother actually writing a gag, the funny outfits already zinged them so hard that a joke would just be overkill.  Just do what they do but less good.  It’s funny when people suck at stuff, like joke writing.

Meet the Spartans was written and directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, who previously collaborated on Epic Movie and Date Movie.  If you’re doing the math at home, that makes all of their movies combined approximately 27% less funny than watching a lab puppy burn to death.
