Sony has released an official picture of Spider-Man in costume from the Spider-Man reboot, along with the announcement of the official title: The Amazing Spider-Man. …Eh. But the new pic looks way less like gay porn than the last batch, so at least there’s that.  Come off it, Spider-Man, we know what you did last summer:

"Haha, c'mon Spider-man, cut it out!"

The press release also notes that it’s set for a July 3rd release and is being shot entirely in 3D.  Differences between the reboot and the Sam Raimi version so far include those little webshooter dealies on Spider-Man’s wrists, and that a person will actually be doing stunts in the Spider-man suit this time (whereas the last one was almost all CGI).  …Exciting, right?

I’ve always found it interesting that Spider-Man makes the sign for “I love you” in sign language when he shoots webs.  You should be in love before shoot your webbing on someone, I always say.  More meaningful that way.  “I love you!  I love you!  I love you!  …aaaaand I’m spent.”

I saw a batch of these new set pictures from the Marc Webb Spider-Man reboot on Durden this morning, but I didn’t really think anything of them.  I figured it was just a stunt double in there practicing for action sequences.  Turns out, no, that’s actually Andrew Garfield (Scarfield) inside the suit.

Hey, uh… so what exactly was the plan here?  Because so far, it looks like they took the most waifish actor they could find, stuck him in skintight spandex with no underpants, and drew a big red arrow toward his junk.  Who’s directing this again, Lou Perlman?

Pictures and video from the set of Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot in Los Angeles have been hitting the web all week, which is great if you’re into that sort of thing.  The above video is pretty boring, but it does show them filming a live-action stunt, which is one way the reboot differs from Sam Raimi’s version, where Spider-Man was mostly CG.  I guess that’s good.  You can see the pictures of the spidey suit below, which doesn’t look like a real movie costume so much as it does like elaborate cosplay.  Or maybe I was just distracted by the come-hither looks and F-me boots.

Elsewhere and more interestingly, LiveForFilm has dug up a compilation of clips from the 70s, Japanese TV version of Spider-man.

While Toei’s version of the character wore the same costume as his Marvel counterpart, the show’s storyline and the origin of the character’s powers deviated completely from the source material. In addition to fighting by himself, this incarnation of Spider-Man also piloted a giant robot known as Leopardon, which he would summon to thwart off enlarged versions of the show’s monsters.

“A guy who can climb and shoot webs, hmmm, that sounds boring.  Could he also ride a giant robot and fight monsters?”  Advantage: Japan.

See?  I tried to tell you guys one pieces were back.  As you may have already deduced, this is the first picture of Scarfield (Andrew Garfield) in his superhero unitard for Marc Webb’s 3D reboot of Spider-Man (via Aintitcool).  The suit’s shinier than I remember, with a narrower red strip down the center that seems to say, “Hey, check out my crotch bulge!”

I hope he’s free-balling it in there.  No respects a superhero with visible pantie line.

PacificCoastNewsOnline has new pictures of Scarfield and Emma Stone on the set of Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot.  They look silly in them, so this is an important news story.  I think what happened was that Emma Stone was probably all like, “Hey, Scarfield, do your Judd Nelson impression!”

Then he was all like,”Heeey,” and she was all like, “HURRRRR,” braying with glee, as she’s wont to do. (*clops hooves*)

Haha, I love you, maturity.  Hurrr, Sloth Headbutt.
