Here’s Louis C.K. on the Tonight Show last night doing some bits you’ve probably already heard and enjoy (I can tell you’re all hip because of the scarves), but more importantly, at the 4:30 mark the interview starts, and he tells a story from the set of The Invention of Lying with Ricky Gervais.  It’s about how he was doing a scene with John Hodgman and he thought of a really hilarious Hodgman burn an so he told everyone about it, but then… well, let’s just say it doesn’t go well.  It’s strange, because usually Jewish comedians are so full of social grace and devil-may-care charm.  Anyway, after that he shows a clip from the movie, and it looks pretty good, and Philip Seymour Hoffman kindareminds me of Eyebrow Kitty.  Haha, good story, Vince.

After much anticipation and whining (mostly by me), Rickey Gervais’ The Invention of Lying finally has a trailer.  It’s set in a world where everyone tells the truth all the time, until Ricky Gervais accidentally invents lying.  It’s basically the opposite of Liar Liar.  Besides starring, Ricky Gervais also wrote and directed (with Matthew Robinson), and it co-stars Rob Lowe, Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Louis CK, Jeffrey Tambor, Christopher Guest… pretty much every comedy actor ever.  I looks promising.  Then again, I might just hold out for the American remake starring Steve Carrell and act surprised whenever anyone mentions this one, just to help hipsters feel more smug at cocktail parties.\

Figuring his movie didn’t have enough frizzy-haired Jews, Ricky Gervais added Jonah Hill from Superbad and comedian Louis C.K.  If you don’t know Louis C.K., he’s the guy from whom Dane Cook steals his jokes.  He’s also Catholic. I probably should’ve mentioned that earlier.

This Side of the Truth stars Rob Lowe, Jennifer Garner, and Ricky Gervais.  The film is set in a contemporary world where no one has ever lied. Gervais plays an actor who tells the world’s first lie and uses it to get ahead.

Hill will play Mark’s neighbor, who suffers from depression, while Louis C.K. will play Mark’s loser best friend. "The Office" co-creator Gervais marks his feature directing debut with the film, which he’s co-writing and co-directing with Matt Robinson.

I’m pretty excited for this movie, but then again, the other day I found a leftover Cheeto in the pocket of my sweatpants and literally cried tears of joy.
