FilmDrunk Live Discussion Thread: Eric André

Written by Vince Mancini / 06.18.13

Eric-Andre-Show

Today we’re honored to have as our FilmDrunk Live Discussion guest comedian Eric André, host and creator of The Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim – he also had a recurring character in Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 and a small part in The Internship, if those things are important to you. I don’t think I’d be out of line or even unique in calling The Eric Andre perhaps the weirdest show on television, which he initially started shooting himself in a “semi-abandoned” bodega in Brooklyn. Should be fun, right?

The F-U-N starts at  1PM PT/4PM ET right here and should last for about an hour. Begin your questions with @Eric to keep things organized, and feel free to ask anything you want, just don’t embarrass me. Click on “See All Responses” or Eric’s name in the right side module to easily access all his answers. Please remember to spay and neuter your pets, unless you plan to breed them, which is a great way to make some extra dough on the side.

2013 Oscars Live Discussion Thread

Written by Vince Mancini / 02.24.13

Even though I have half a mind to boycott the whole thing on account of Matthew McConaughey’s historic snub, we’re still a movie site, so we’ll be around tonight for an Oscars live discussion. Did awards shows even exist before live blogs?? Discuss. Anyway, the show starts at 5:30 PT/8:30 ET, so set your pocket watches and microwave clocks, and check back here for heated discussions and virtual guacamole. Did you know “Ted” is going to be a presenter?? This night is going to be wacky!

If you want to make things interesting, there’s also our Oscars night drinking game, which we of course cannot condone, promote, or sanction in any way. Seriously though, have fun, but don’t fall off the wagon on account of the freakin’ Oscars. And remember, don’t feel too bad for the losers, their children

Super Troopers 2 is Happening! The Best Of Chandrasekhar & Heffernan’s UPROXX Live Discussion

Written by RoboPanda / 08.07.12

Yesterday, Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan of Broken Lizard (Super Troopers) stopped by to humorously answer reader questions, and that was as awesome as it sounds. You can also catch up with Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan by watching The Babymakers in theaters this weekend (as well as on iTunes and VOD) and on DVD and Blu-ray September 18th. Chandrasekhar directs while Heffernan plays a supporting role to Paul Schneider and Olivia Munn.

Live Q & A: Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan of The Babymakers

Written by Vince Mancini / 08.06.12

Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan are best known as part of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, a group that began at Colgate University from members of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and re-assembled in New York City. After spending a few years touring clubs and colleges with their live show, in 2000, they shot Super Troopers, which was picked up by Fox Searchlight and released in 2002, whereupon it developed a loyal cult following, but you chicken f*ckers probably already knew that. In 2004, they released Club Dread, a slasher parody set at a tropical resort, and in 2005, Chandrasekhar directed Dukes of Hazzard for Warner Bros, a relationship which allowed them to put out Beerfest. In 2010 they put out Slammin’ Salmon, which Heffernan directed (his first time directing a feature). Throughout that time, they’ve both been busy making appearances in other films (such as Chandrasekhar’s memorable turn as a cab driver in Jackass Two) and in Chandrasekhar’s case, directing episodes of an impressive variety of shows, such as Royal Pains, Community, Happy Endings, Up All Night, Chuck, Blue Mountain State, Knight Rider, and plenty of other stuff. Dude stays busy, is what am saying.

All of these things are 100% true if IMDB and Wikipedia and my memory are to be believed. What am I, a librarian? Anyway, Jay and Kevin are joining us for a live discussion so you can ask them about all this and more yourselves.

They join us to promote their latest project (with Chandrasekhar directing and Heffernan in a supporting role), The Babymakers, starring Paul Schneider and Olivia Munn in a story about sperm bank heist, hit theaters in limited release over the weekend and is scheduled for DVD and Blu-Ray September 18th. DISCUSSION BEGINS 5 PM ET/2 PM PT.

Tommy Davidson Live Discussion Thread Q & A

Written by Vince Mancini / 06.27.12

So it’s Live Thread time again, and this morning, we’re happy to have

In addition to his TV work, he still maintains what looks like a pretty brutal schedule of live comedy, and of course you remember him as part of the cast of In Living Color, not to mention roles in Bamboozled, Booty Call, Juwanna Mann, etc. etc.

Got it? Good. So ask away in the comments below. Tommy’s scheduled to arrive at 8:30 am PT/11:30 am ET.

UPDATE - 12:30 ET: Nevermind.
