20th Century Fox just released this new, extended trailer for Knight and Day, and it’s 3-minutes of star-studded, heart-pounding, bullfighting, butt-clenching, glib-mugging, motorcycle-riding, ;lkjad;lajkfsuiikh9y823908op… …….  Crap, sorry, I must’ve fallen asleep for a second there.  Anyway, if I take anything from this trailer, it’s that Cameron Diaz’s character’s name is “June.”

“June? You need to come with us, June.  Oh hey, June.  June.  June?  Look out June! June; June?!  Just a second while I fight this bull, June.  June.”

Bang bang car chase one-liner SPLOOGE

The studio just sent over this video of “Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz kicking back on the set of Knight & Day.“    It is pretty much what they say it is.  A totally candid, not-at-all-contrived video of Tom and Cam just hanging out, practicing some stunts, feelin’ the flow, havin’ a Bud; you know, the yooooouge.  “Kick the bag,” Tom tells Cam.  “Harder, pretend some gays are in there.”

And then Cam kicks Tom over the craft services table!  Haha! What a klutz!  My copy of Us Weekly was right, big Hollywood stars really ARE just like us!  They goof around on set and do lots of totally regular, totally not pointless and staged things with each other.  I’m definitely going to see this movie now.  If these two had any more chemistry they’d be my uncle’s meth lab.

IMDB premiered the newest trailer for Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz’ Knight and Day last night, and it doesn’t look as bad as I’d expect from a Fox spy comedy starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz and an awful title like “Knight and Day.”  Which I realize is like getting kicked in the nuts and then being pleasantly surprised by how few times you puked (story of my weekend).  But it was directed by James Mangold, who does have a couple decent movies on his resume, and Tom Cruise is at his best like this when he’s playing a borderline sociopath who may be schizophrenic.  It’s playing a normal human with normal human emotions he has trouble with.

Also, I don’t know where the comedy comes in.  I guess this is kind of an easier way to write comedy.  Instead of writing sharp dialog or funny situations, you just write a crazy car chase gun fight scene and have the characters act glib about it.  Easier on the actors too.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’ action comedy, Knight and Day finally has a trailer.  If I’m honest, I have to admit that Cruise’s comedic acting looks a lot better here than it did in his supposedly funny scene in Tropic Thunder (as long as no gays are around).  Still, you can’t trick me into forgetting that the movie’s called “Knight and Day” and it comes from Fox, whose execs wouldn’t know a good movie if it hit them in the nuts and took them to an important business meeting with the Japanese.

I also like how at the end how they’re taking cover from gunfire and Tom Cruise says, “Okay, let’s go on three,” and Cameron Diaz ignores him and runs into a hail of bullets.  Get it?  It’s funny because she’s a moron.

Knight and Day, which stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, just released a poster.  It used to be called Wichita, but someone at 20th Century Fox thought that didn’t sound enough like a moronic sitcom from the 80s, so now it’s Knight and Day.  Then they left the two huge stars’ faces off the poster so you could better focus on what a hilarious pun it is.  ET also did a segment on it recently, and you can see that footage after the jump.

Knight and Day, opening July 2, centers on a lonely woman (Cameron Diaz) whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a super spy (Tom Cruise) takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source. Diaz claims the film will showcase Tom Cruise’s alleged comedic chops which he allegedly displayed in Tropic Thunder.  You know, as long as there aren’t any gays around.
