(That Zach Galifianakis would show up to my work and pour bleach in my boss’s coffee was always a dream of mine)

I posted the teaser a while back, and now here’s the full trailer for Up in the Air, from director Jason Reitman (Juno), starring George Clooney and Vera Farmiga.  Hey, am I the only one who constantly misreads her last name as “farm nigga”?  Wait, is that racist?  …I should just drop this, shouldn’t I. It also stars the ever delightful JK Simmons, and has at least a cameo from Zach Galifianakis. I like the director and the cast, but the trailer doesn’t do much to make the story seem interesting.

Mike Judge previously directed the cult-classic Office Space, Idiocracy (which isn’t the best movie, but has some awesomely hilarious ideas in it), and created Beavis and Butthead (King of the Hill is something we don’t discuss in these parts).  His latest is called Extract, and stars Jason Bateman, Kristin Wiig, Mila Kunis, J.K. Simmons, and Ben Affleck as a stoner. The trailer looks pretty funny.  But then again, so does this picture of a chihuahua standing on cheeseburgers.

Even if I hadn’t already gotten a good review back from Chodin who I sent to an early screening (I’ll post that when we get closer to release), I’d still be excited for I Love You, Man.  Paul Rudd? Andy Samberg?  J.K. Simmons?  Yes, please. It plays opening night of the SXSW Festival (that’s South by Southwest, for all you non hipster dickweeds out there) and opens wide in March.  The only problem is the plot, which involves Paul Rudd desperately seeking a best man for his wedding.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to be friends with Paul Rudd?  I don’t know about you, but sometimes I like to daydream that he and I are best friends. He pushes me down the slide, hangs out with me in our sweet clubhouse, pulls me around in my red wagon – kinda like those My Buddy commercials. What? You don’t do that? Yeah, you wouldn’t. Fag.

This is a little parody called Jewno, written by Daily Show writer Rob Kutner… it’s pretty self-explanatory.

It’s filled with all sorts of offensive Jewish stereotypes, like that Jewish people are smart, Jewish people are ambitious, they go to Jewish schools, have “bar mitzvahs”, eat Jewish foods, spin "dradles" and use all sorts of Yiddish words – the most hateful generalizations.   I mean, it’s nice to finally see some Jewish people in comedy, but at what cost?
