JACK WHITE & ALICIA KEYS FOR BOND THEME

07.30.08 Written by Vince Mancini

White and Keys play a spirited game of Who Can Look More Asian

Originally they wanted Amy Winehouse to do the theme song for the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace (trailer), but she was busy building an orphanage in Kenya. Just kidding of course, she was doing drugs.  Anyway, they got Jack White and Alicia Keys instead.

The song, "Another Way to Die," will be the first duet in Bond soundtrack history. White wrote and produced the song, and also will play drums. The soundtrack to the movie will be released Oct. 28.

No one’s heard the song yet, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s whiney sounding.

FIRST 10 MINUTES OF WALK HARD

12.10.07 Written by Vince Mancini

You can watch the first 10 minutes of Walk Hard, the Naked Gun-esque musical biopic epic directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Judd Apatow, starring John C. Reilly here.  (Seriously, click here, stupid)

The clip is R-Rated, so you have to use their age-verification software that hardly ever works.  If you’re having trouble, try “George Bush, 7-6-46, 20500”.

I’ll see it, because I like dick jokes.  If you don’t like dick jokes, well, to each his own. But between us, you’re probably a homo.

See, I’m all for a dumb movie that knows it’s a dumb movie – unlike Adam Sandler’s last few, that start out vaguely humorous then turn into a public service announcement for retarded people.

‘WALK HARD’ TRAILER

08.16.07 Written by Vince Mancini

Yup, Jack White plays Elvis

The trailer for Judd Apatow's Ray/Walk the Line/Selena/Etc. parody, Walk Hard, is online over at /film.

Starring John C. Reilly (the C stands for "Cleft in my nose bridge"), Walk Hard:

…follows the up-and-down-and-up-again struggle of legendary musician Dewey Cox (Academy Award® nominee JOHN C. REILLY) as he rises from the poverty of a hardscrabble Alabama farm to conquer the world of popular music through a rollercoaster career that spans seven decades.

It looks pretty funny to me, but the /film guy just isn't that impressed.  What does impress him, you ask?  Well, free t-shirts for one, and presumably, man ass.
