PSYCHOTIC RIVER SWIMMING GUY DOC BOUGHT

Written by Vince Mancini / 09.07.07

A British distributor has bought the limey rights to Big River Man, the documentary about Martin Strel, the insane Slovenian who swam the length of the Amazon this year in the name of world peace.  WithLeather described his original plan:

Strel plans to swim 3,375 miles down the world's greatest river, defying piranhas, snakes, crocodiles and even sharks. Buckets of animal blood will be loaded onto support boats to distract flesh-eating fish and reptiles during the 52-year-old's 70-day odyssey — which would break his own world length record for a swim.

Me and Martin are a lot alike. I blog for world peace, eat Doritos for world peace, even occasionally wear pants for world peace.  Bottom line, we both do stuff for world peace. I just try to limit myself to things that don't involve the risk of stuff crawling up my pee hole.  Also, I hope that this documentary will end with him getting brutally devoured by the river he loves, because Grizzly Man set the bar pretty high on that .

*Also, the title for this YouTube video was "AMAZON SWIMMER TRIES TO MAKE A HISTORY"
