Lots of honest-to-God movie talk on this week’s Frotcast, as Laremy talks Fast 6, Ben and I talk Star Trek 2, and Laremy Legel from Film.com and I argue over whether The Hangover III is worse than The Hangover II (three is much worse than two and Laremy is an idiot). We also play a few of your voicemails, argue about the new pronunciation of “gif,” discuss our favorite hobo stories, I rant about Will Smith and his dumb kids, and Brendan shreds on the mouth guitar during some impromptu Black Sabbath singing. AAAAW LAWN CHAIR!

Also, I don’t know how to tell you this, dude, but I think your dog might be gay.

Frotcast 152: Matt Lieb joins us for “dueling chest voices”

This week on the Frotcast, we bring on one of our favorite guests, San Francisco comedian Matt Lieb (@Lieb123456789), one half of the “Louv it or Lieb it” comedy duo along with Matt Louv. We answer your listener emails, discuss the local comedy scene, wonder what happened to Sinbad, and Matt tells us stories about hanging out with Third Eye Blind’s Stephen Jenkins (which leads to roughly the amount of impromptu singalongs you would expect).

Seriously though, the time flew by, and if you’ve never suggested the Frotcast to a friend, hey, maybe this is the week! Spread the love around!

The Frotcrew Thanks You

Written by Vince Mancini / 05.15.13

Gang, just a short message from Ben to thank you for your support. You guys are like the lacy bra that makes us feel like the beautiful set of boobs we are. -Vince

Loyal Filmdrunk Readers and Frotcast Listeners,

Vince, Laremy and I wanted to thank you for making our Juggalo Vision Quest a reality. We are very excited/ terrified/ nervous/ anxious to get out to Cave-In-Rock, Illinois to completely immerse ourselves in the Juggalo world. 73% chance Laremy ODs on Faygo, 82% chance Ben finds a new favorite band, and 96% chance that Vince ends up in Juggalo Jail at some point.

We truly do appreciate all of your support to help make this journey and documentary a reality.

For this project, we are excited to be teaming up with professional video production crew Tall Tale productions to document the entire weekend. We will have a crew of 3 from Tall Tale to film and then edit this weekend into something hopefully watchable and maybe even enjoyable.

Frotcast 151: Iron Man 3, Burnsy’s Song of the Summer, the world’s most obnoxious online dating profile

This week on the Frotcast, four out the five Frotsmen have seen Iron Man 3, which we discuss in typical fashion late in the ‘cast. Wait, did I say FIVE Frotsmen? I did indeed, for Ashley Burns, the unauthorized mayor of Orlando, joins us on this week’s Frotcast to bring us the latest news from central Florida as well as his Song of the Summer, a little ditty called “Punch (Let’s Be Real)” about a real life tale of unrequited love (according to a guy named MoistCholo). It’s so bad, and I can’t stop siiiiihhhiiiiihiiiiiiinging it. I attached the video after the jump to share my affliction. Eat your heart out, BurnsyFan66.

BONUS FROTCAST NEWS: Laremy clearly has the magic touch, because for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, one of his picks for Fantasy Summer Box Office got bumped off the summer release schedule. Last year it was GI Joe Retaliation, this year it’s his Bomb Pick, the 300 sequel. The jinx is strong with that one.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the Kickstarter, I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m so very afraid. Check out Frotcast.com to sponsor the ‘cast or for no-login-required commenting.

Kickstart Our Juggalo Journey, Part 2

Written by Vince Mancini / 04.30.13

Here’s everyone’s favorite ear rapist, Ben, with an update on our Kickstarter. I would write more about this myself, but frankly, I’m goddamned terrified of this entire endeavor.

Loyal Filmdrunk Readers,

First off, thank you to EVERYONE who has backed our Kickstarter project to go to the Gathering of the Juggalos to make a documentary about what goes down during the August weekend in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. We are extremely honored by you sharing some of your hard earned coin to make this project a reality.

However, we are still a little short of our goal. I am by no means asking you to contribute any more of your own American currency. If you can share the project with a friend or two, that would be beyond generous. I cannot confirm, but I have been told by certain sources (cough… Jesus… cough… cough) that you would get some pretty great karma coming your way for such selfless actions.

If you are anything like me, you are curious about what happens during the Gathering of the Juggalos. This is not an expedition to make fun of the Juggalo culture, as some have suggested. This is an observational journey, learning just what makes Juggalos the wonderful and interesting group that they are. Vince, Laremy Legel (of film.com) and I would be venturing into uncharted territory, very similar the first explorers to the moon or the crew of the Prometheus from the documentary Prometheus. There is a chance we don’t come back, either by turning native or being stuck forever in Juggalo Jail (yes, this is a real thing).
