Last year, more than 10,000 people attended the first ever Cat Video Festival, a massive celebration of some of the Internet’s most insanely popular cat videos by the nation’s presumably loneliest people. Needless to say, the event was such a hit that the festival’s organizers not only decided to host it again this year, but they’re also taking it on the road.

The Cat Video Festival’s birthplace and annual home is at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, where the second annual convention will take place in August. However, like all good things, the brighter lights of New York City are calling, and Brooklyn will also play host to another Cat Video Festival later this year.

So why just cats? Why not a more inclusive Animal Video Festival or a much more awesome Dog Video Festival? Because just like cats, cat video fans are snotty and exclusive.

Did you know there have been five Air Bud movies? Five. Two theatrical releases and three more direct-to-video sequels, with each film featuring Buddy playing a different sport (basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball, respectively). And that’s not even including the Air Buddies spinoffs, which feature Air Bud’s puppies doing things like celebrating various holidays and going to space, and are not about sports at all even though they could put all the puppies in little ice skates and make one called Air Buddies: Paw-er Play TOMORROW. Oh, also, the puppies can talk even though Air Bud couldn’t because whatever screw you you’re watching the ninth Air Bud movie so why don’t you settle down, Scorsese. It’s called artistic license. Geez.

It appears I have gotten off topic. Here’s what I’m getting at: How good would a dog actually be at the sports depicted in the five original movies? And can I formulate hard opinions on this even though I have only seen 20 minutes of the first one? Short answers: Not very, and of course. So please, join me below as I rank the Air Bud films from least to most plausible.

I’m not going to pretend to know what’s going on here, but YouTuber and FilmDrunkard R. Emmett Sibley has created a new series called “Action Stars Shooting at Dogs” and the debut video is pretty fantastic. Basically, it’s Mel Gibson from his Lethal Weapon days shooting at adorable puppies on a playground. Obviously, I’m not advocating the act of shooting dogs, but watching them narrowly escape a sniper’s gun is pretty entertaining.

Hopefully this series is long-lived and perhaps the next installment will feature guys who hold their guns sideways while shooting at dogs, because that looks so much cooler than a dude with a mullet hiding in some brush.
