Here’s Brad Pitt in a super short film featuring him dressed as Henry Spencer from David Lynch’s 1978 film, Eraserhead. To be honest, I’m not really sure what the point of this was. It must be weird being so famous that you can film yourself combing your hair in a different way and it gets covered by the New York Times.
[Apparently it was part of a whole series of contemporary actors "embodying" (dressing up as) cinematic villains from years past. Here's Baby Goose and George Clooney, for instance. They're... pretty boring, actually.]
Not to be outdone, here’s Harrison Ford in “Staplerhead.”:
I miss the days when David Lynch was providing daily updates on the weather and asking twitter about his hat, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been keeping busy. If being weird was swimming, the man would be a shark. Just recently he Tweeted:
DAVID_LYNCH:
Dear Twitter Friends, I’m proud to share with you the fact that I finished my lavender shapes over the weekend. How did it go for you all?
DAVID_LYNCH:
Last weekend I told you I was going to work on lavender shapes for long arms. I have a confession to make. I did not finish my work.
But that’s not all. In addition to his lavender shapes for long arms, his long-planned solo album now has a title: ‘Crazy Clown Time.’
David Lynch recently recorded (or whatever you want to call this) some music recently, because why not? It was either that or walk around LA with a cow again. The clip above (via Buzzfeed) is the first of two singles available on iTunes through a British independent label, and it’s called “Good Day Today”. I’d like to tell you whether or not it’s any good, but sadly, all I know about electronic music is that my local news anchor tells me that it’s very popular with “the gays.”
It does, however, seem to be based in some way on David Lynch’s Twitter. Lately he’s been fond of quoting the Maharishi, but there was a time not too long ago when he’d say how inspired he was by all of your projects and tell you to have a great day, much like in the song. On that note, here are some other actual David Lynch Tweets that we’d love to see adapted into songs:
This weekend I will be working with fire in the pink cookie.
If you’re planning to chop wood in the near future, @BestMadeCo makes the best & most beautiful axes.
I got the axe w/the white stripe & purple stain. It’s real pretty & super well made.
This weekend I’m going to try to find out if I’m connected to the moon.
I’m pretty sure I’m connected to the moon.
Someone asked if I liked wool as well as wood. The closest I’ve come to this is many times, I’ve felt like a sheep in today’s world.
I built a fish over the weekend. You?
And of course, my personal favorite, the one where he puts on a cowboy hat and reads the weather. I don’t care what anyone says, Twitter is one of the best inventions ever, and it’s all because of people like David Lynch and Sly Stallone. Would my life be somehow less rich without the knowledge the David Lynch is wearing a hat? Yes, yes it would.
When I heard Werner Herzog and David Lynch would be teaming up to make a movie about a man who killed his mother with a sword, I was understandably excited. Unfortunately, My Son, My Son, I Love My Dead Gay Son What Have Ye Done got even less of a theatrical release than Herzog’s criminally underseenBad Lieutenant. (It should probably be noted that My Son also got much worse reviews).
Nonetheless, My Son hits DVD next month and in support of the release, First Look Studios sponsored a social media day where you could ask Werner a question on Twitter and he would respond via video. I’m a little miffed he didn’t answer my question, but I’ll still post the first four minutes of My Son My Son, which was also released online in support of the DVD release. It’s mostly Willem Dafoe’s cop character doing an impression of another cop. So basically, an actor playing a cop acting like another cop– INCEPTION! After the jump, Werner responds to a question about what it’s like to get shot.

Chareth Cutestory says: Not since the Ardennes forest has he battled such a bulge.
I simply could not deny a succinct, accurate historical reference, wrapped around a joke about an old man’s boner. It’s a perfect embodiment of the spirit of FilmDrunk. Honorable mentions below.
