TERRY GILLIAM’S FAVORITE ANIMATED FILMS

10.09.09 Written by Vince Mancini

Time Out London has compiled a list of what they consider the 50 best animated films of all time, with commentary from Terry Gilliam.  It ranges from the positive:

[On South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut - #9] ‘These are my children! They’re brilliant. With the film, I was convinced they couldn’t pull it off because I just didn’t think it would sustain for 90 minutes. But of course it does, and it’s just brilliant. They’ve been able to maintain their outrageousness, their awfulness. They’re uncompromising, that’s why I love them.’

To the not as positive:

[On 1978's animated Lord of the Rings - #36] ‘I hated it. Bakshi was a strange one who took some of my favourite material and never managed pull it off completely on screen, He always seemed to be more ambitious than the money allowed. And the end result was, to me, horrible.’

Kind of like my biceps.  Can you believe how much I’m curling right now?  It’s like the weights are levitating.  These aren’t arms, they’re firearms.

WATCH AQUA TEEN MOVIE ONLINE FOR FREE

04.03.08 Written by Vince Mancini

Adult Swim just posted the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie (Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters) in its entirety on their website, where you can supposedly watch it for free.

I mean, I guess you can, provided your computer jiu-jitsu is better than mine.  But hey, watching the little scrolling loadie bar thing is kind of fun too. Wee, look at it go!
