After the jump, I’ve got the full trailer for Angels and Demons, in which Tom Hanks takes his brotox forehead and weird floppy hair to Italy to do a passable Nic Cage impression and solve the age-old mystery at the heart of the Catholic church: does the pope indeed shit in the woods?  Or was that the bear?  Or maybe it was Nic Cage dressed as a bear.  These can’t be mere coincidences, people.

Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler — in which Mickey Rourke plays a grizzled, comeback-seeking performer with a whiskey-cured voice (Mickey Rourke plays Mickey Rourke, in other words) – has won the Golden Lion at the 65th Venice Film Festival.  Slashfilm had this to say:

Anne Thompson reports that the film is hoping to land a distributor which could “ramp up a release before year’s end so that [Mickey] Rourke can qualify for Oscar consideration” making a December release very likely.

[Aronofsky] sat there and said, “Listen man, you know you’re a really great actor.  You just ****ed up your whole career for 15 years, and, you know, nobody wants to hire you.”

I was searching for a picture of the Universal Studios fire when I found the headline-photo combination at left. 

Sure, I could try to explain why Nic Cage’s face represents a Yahoo News Photo slideshow entitled "Ground Zero", but it makes all too much sense as it is, don’t you think?

In this new poster for Bangkok Dangerous, Nic Cage was standing behind some glass hugging himself just minding his own business, when suddenly, a gunman opened fire and a giant disembodied hand tried to steal his wallet.  Wtf, man, guy can’t catch a break.

This is the new poster for Bangkok Dangerous, an upcoming thriller from the Pang brothers (remaking their own Hong Kong hit of the same name) starring Nic Cage and his creepy forehead.  Cage plays a hitman who goes to Bangkok on assignment and starts to enjoy life.

It looks like an ad council poster you’d see on the wall of a dorm, warning guys about the dangers of that "What’s the capital of Thailand?" game everyone seems to be so fond of.  You’re not supposed to hit me in the nuts if I get the answer right, jerks.

UPDATE: I prefer this SNL sketch, "Only in Bangkok", starring Ben Affleck. Best Line: "Hey old man, you know anyone that wants to buy a suitcase full of panda meat?"
