NEW TRAILER FER INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS

06.22.09 Written by Vince Mancini

This is the new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, which premiered on Spike TV the other night.  Watching it, I realize I can’t help myself.  Even though Brad Pitt’s character seems like the love child of Cary Grant and Foghorn Leghorn; even though Mike Myers gets to do an accent again; even though Eli Roth should sue the little girl who taught him to punch and swing a baseball bat; I still know I’m going to see this, probably on opening night.  In the end I’m just a sucker for people getting bludgeoned to death.

FURST TRAYLER FOUR INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS

02.11.09 Written by Vince Mancini

Entertainment Tonight gave us a taste, and now we have the real deal: the full trailer for Inglourious Basterds, (sic) Quentin Tarantino’s WWII revenge flick.  We see more of Brad Pitt as Aldo Raine, Eli Roth as a bat-wielding psychopath, and B.J. Novak during some rare time away from The Office.  It looks just about how you’d expect for a Quentin Tarantino war movie, except… what’s with the Linkin Park-y music?  One thing you can usually count on from Tarantino is a soundtrack packed with underappreciated gems from the 70s, but this time around it sounds like someone’s about to rap-scream.  Perhaps he’s serving notice that the bodies will indeed hit the floor.  Or maybe it’s just that rap-rock goes great with things that are misspelled.

LATEST BASTARD IS BJ NOVAK

08.07.08 Written by Vince Mancini

B.J. Novak, aka Ryan from The Office is the second person to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards.

Novak is expected to play PFC Utivich, described as a soldier of slight build who comes from New York.  The WMA-repped Novak is best known for his role on the NBC hit series, where he plays former temp Ryan. Novak also has written several episodes of the show and served as co-executive producer. [HollywoodReporter]

An inside source also tells me Tarantino is being careful to cast Jewish actors in Jewish roles because they control all of the world’s banks.  For real though, a friend of mine went to see B.J. Novak do stand up in San Francisco and said his entire set was prop comedy.  That’s not a joke, it’s just funny.

Impress your queer friends at wine and cheese parties: B.J. Novak went to high school with Office co-star John Krasinski.  Novak even wrote and cast a satirical play in which Krasinski played the leading role!
