‘Anchorman 2′ Added Yet Another Superstar Celebrity To Its List Of Cameos

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.09.13

If the cast and crew of Anchorman: The Legend Continues are trying to keep the film’s incredible and ever-increasing number of cameos by famous actors and celebrities under wraps, they’re doing a horrible job. As the sequel to the classic Will Ferrell comedy is filming in Atlanta, photos and reports of cameo after cameo are popping up on the Internet and it’s only a matter of time before… yep, now I’m in Anchorman 2 also.

But the latest cameo being reported by Access Atlanta is a little more surprising than Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Sacha Baron Cohen. Namely because this one isn’t a comedy actor. Hell, he’s not even an actor at all. Can you guess who it is? Wrong, it’s not Chet Haze, despite my demands. But that’s pretty close…

Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Beat Sacha Baron Cohen With Crowbars For ‘Anchorman 2′

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.08.13

One of the biggest complaints of the religiously loyal fans (*points to self*) of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is that a sequel would have impossibly large alligator-skin shoes to fill. But that didn’t stop Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and the rest of the News Team from suiting up and accepting their invitations to the pants party for Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

So what do you do when you have bigger shoes to fill? You add bigger feet. In this case, those feet belong to longtime Ferrell friends Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and his Talladega Nights co-star Sacha Baron Cohen. A picture made the rounds earlier this week suggesting that Fey and Poehler might be involved, because there were two women, one with brown hair and the other blonde, filming a scene in Atlanta, but now new images from the set have surfaced and there they are – beating Cohen with crowbars.

Fey, Poehler and Cohen join Anchorman newcomers Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, Kristen Wiig and (supposedly) John C. Reilly.

Steve Carell Delivered The Top Plays On SportsCenter

Written by Ashley Burns / 03.14.13

Steve Carell and Jim Carrey are currently making their rounds to promote their upcoming comedy, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, in which they play rival magicians vying for a premium Las Vegas gig. Of course, as we already saw earlier this week with Carrey’s appearance at SXSW, people don’t really care about what these guys are doing now. They want to know about what they’re doing next.

Specifically, the comic book fans want to know if Carrey is joining Guardians of the Galaxy (he claims he hasn’t even heard of it) and the bros want to know what’s up with Carell and Anchorman 2. For example, when Carell stopped by ESPN’s SportsCenter to help out with the day’s Top Plays, they wanted him to channel his character Brick Tamland.

And he sort of did, when he wasn’t hysterically laughing at whatever the hell was happening in his ear.

This Week in Posters: The Hangover 3, 1st look at Harrison Ford in Anchorman

Written by Vince Mancini / 03.06.13

I think the prospect of a third Hangover sounds awful to most people, but… are they literally going to blow up Vegas in this one? Dammit, poster, this has me intrigued. And with the flaming cityscape in the background, all it would take is a new subtitle and Steven Seagal standing in the foreground with a katana to make this a perfect Steven Seagal poster. The Hangover 3: On Deadly Vengeance, starring Steven Seagal as Lt. Sergei Hangover.

Harrison Ford is joining Anchorman 2

Written by Vince Mancini / 03.04.13

Hot off the presses comes the news that Harrison Ford, who once played a crotchedy news anchor in that one movie about

Ford will play a legendary newscaster a la Tom Brokaw in the Adam McKay-helmed comedy, which begins shooting this month in Atlanta. [THR]

Pretty much every comedy actor you’d ever heard of at the time had at least a cameo in Anchorman, and the sequel adds to the originals Kristen Wiig, as Brick Tamlan’s wife, James Marsden, who won me over on 30 Rock, as a “hot young anchor,” and now Harrison Ford. And supposedly they’re trying to get Jeff Bridges to play a “Ted Turner-esque character.

We could spend all day discussing the inherent difficulties in trying to recapture the magic of a beloved comedy classic (Caddyshack 2 anyone? The Austin Powers sequels?), but I’d much rather spend this time speculating about what Harrison Ford’s character’s name will be. Ron Bergundy, Veronica Corningstone, Brick Tamlan, Wes Mantooth – the best thing about Anchorman was the names. What could Harrison Ford’s character’s name be? We’ve compiled a list of possibilities:
