ZUCKER MOVIE A VICTIM OF CONSPIRACY

10.08.08 Written by Vince Mancini

In some political circles (read: douchey law school parties in D.C.), it’s big news that Bill Maher’s Religulous tripled the per-screen average of David Zucker’s “patriotic” spoof An American Carol this weekend.  Especially after people handed out tickets to a free Carol screening at the GOP convention. Of course, the Zucker people have a theory:

[From a page of An American Carol's website that has since been taken down] We have had heard from numerous people across the country that there has been some ticket fraud when buying a ticket for An American Carol this past weekend.
Please check your ticket. If you were in fact one of those people that were “mistakenly” sold a ticket for another movie please fill out the form below. Hold on to your ticket so we can have proof.
If you have noticed other irregularities with the theatres in your area please let us know in the comment section below. For instance, Rated R film rating (when in fact we are rated PG-13), posters not being up, not being listed on the marquee, image or focus problems, sound issues, etc.
Please email us a picture of your ticket stub to fraud@americancarol.com
We are investigating.

Clearly there’s a vast conspiracy of guys like this who will stop at nothing to keep Chris Farley’s brother down.  You seriously believe that Chihuahua movie took number one? Mexicans did it.  Eagle Eye number 2?  The gays.  Nick and Norah?  Jew bankers. I refuse to believe a movie AICN said was good is anything but a hit.

10 MIN OF HILARIOUS REPUBLICAN COMEDY

10.03.08 Written by Vince Mancini

David Zucker was once known for Naked Gun and Airplane!, but then he became a Republican and so now he does this.  Without getting too political here, the difference between left wing political humor and right wing political humor is that the left likes to pretend everyone on the right is an idiot, while the right likes to pretend everyone on the left is a commie terrorist sympathizer.  Their level of application to real life is about the same, it’s just that ha ha that guy’s an idiot jokes tend to be a lot funnier than ha ha that guy hates freedom jokes

You know what would make this better?  If when Kevin Farley showed up to Cuba, he met up with Raul Castro, and then Frank Stallone, Jim Belushi, Marlon Wayans, and all the non-Alec Baldwin brothers came. And then Charlie Murphy burst in the door and karate kicked everyone in the chest, and a dog with big floppy ears put his paws over his eyes and there was a sad trombone sound in the background. Because the dog is like a metaphor for us, you know? Read the rest of this entry »

O’REILLY PREMIERES AMERICAN CAROL TRAILER

08.18.08 Written by Vince Mancini

Airplane! Director David Zucker, who most recently directed Scary Movie 3 and 4, converted to Republicanism in 2004, which probably explains why the trailer for his An American Carol is premiering on Bill O’Reilly’s show.

An anti-American filmmaker who’s out to abolish the July Fourth holiday is visited by three ghosts who try to show him the country’s good sides.

The trailer describes the main character as “America’s Most Infamous Filmmaker,” and is played by Kevin Farley, Chris Farley’s most unfamous sibling.  Put down that noose, Frank Stallone, there’s hope for you yet.
