(300 is Homophobic Turtle’s favorite movie, because all the guys are so tough and manly.)

A few days ago, Collider broke the news that The Fall director Tarsem Singh was attached to direct Gods of War, a film from the producers of 300 who planned to “use the stuff they learned on 300” to make another Greek epic about a war between the Gods and the humans.

Today, Variety reports that Warner has greenlit Clash of the Titans (which is also basically a Greek God-war story) with Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier attached.

But wait, there’s more!  The same producers who discussed Gods of War also report that they’re working on a prequel or sequel to 300. Hooray for originality!  But on the plus side… It’s rainin’ men… in skirts!  With washboard abs!  Someone hold my ankles while I do these situps – it’s time to get sweaty!  Toga! Toga! Toga!

First Brett Ratner and now this – Gerard Butler, who was supposed to play Snake Plissken, has dropped out of the Escape From New York remake, reportedly due to creative differences.

I got fired for creative differences once.  I thought the kids should be able to give me back massages.  I don’t see what’s wrong with that, they gotta learn some time.  I only asked for "hand relief" a couple times.

Jonathan Mostow, who directed Terminator 3, is currently writing the script with the option to direct.  Escape From New York, of course, is John Carpenter’s futuristic 1981 movie about a convict sent to rescue a world leader from New York (which had been turned into a maximum security prison) in the year 1998.  In the remake, Butler was to be sent back in time to "jump on the grenade" and save America the public embarrassment of its elected leader getting a blowjob from a fat chick.
