The second trailer for the remake of Stephen King’s Carrie hit the YouTubes this week, and with Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore leading the way, it’s hard to imagine that this version won’t be at least a little better than most remakes. Much like the original film, this Carrie introduces us to a very special but sheltered teenage girl who discovers that she has incredible super powers, all while she’s constantly bullied by all of the douchebags at her school.
Of course, those powers pay off big time when Carrie’s classmates play a horrible prank on her at their prom, and she proceeds to slaughter everyone with her brain waves as fiery teenage nightmares ensue.
With any remake, though, comes the problem of a lot of today’s younger moviegoers not knowing the source material, which leads us to our facepalm YouTube comment of the week:
Did she really just quote Adam Sandler?
“They’re all going to laugh at you!”
It was only a matter of time before this happened. Next up? Remakes of Adam Sandler movies… starring Adam Sandler.
