The Trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is Here and It’s Beautiful

At long last, we have a full trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and to quote Derek Zoolander, it… looks pretty cool. Ben Stiller directs and stars in a Steve Conrad screenplay remaking a 1947 musical into a sort of Cloud Atlas-esque story about an incorrible daydreamer, co-starring Kristen Wiig as the love interest. I’ve always sort of been anti-dream sequence, because really, no one wants to smell your art student brainfarts, guy. But if you’re going to do it, go big, and it looks like they did. It looks like Stiller may have nailed what Roman Coppola was going for in that turd Charles Swan. I mean, did you know guys sometimes daydream about chicks? Crazy.

If you’re going to do dream sequences, it’s always better if you go shoot awesome landscapes out in the world than it is to do lame music video crap like snowing indoors, like they did in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. Oh my gosh, it doesn’t snow indoors! I must be dreaming!

The song, by the way, is “Dirty Paws” by the Icelandic band Of Monsters And Men. Natalie Portman told me they’d change my life.

(Opens December 25th.)

Okay, so it sorta snows indoors, but you know what I meant.

For someone who seems like a really nice guy, Adam Scott sure plays a great prick.

Starring Sean Penn as himself.

Probably got his thing caught in his zipper like Something About Mary.

Anyone know what language that is? I was thinking it was supposed to be Mongolia.

Totally stole this shot from the opening credits of Napoleon Dynamite, but I approve.

What is this, a center for ants?!?
