If you listen to Patton Oswalt’s comedy as slavishly and pathetically as I do, you know how much he loves Halloween, but even if you don’t, this picture of him dressed as Doctor Octopus with his daughter as Spider-girl should more than prove it. Jeez, all these awesome baby costumes going around, it’s almost enough to make me want to make a baby. So how ’bout it, ladies? Anyone got a soft womb for daddy to lay a swaddlin’? Whoa, whoa, simmer down, I can barely hear you over the sound of all your panties melting. Just know this: my seed will find purchase, in this life or the next.
Unpopular-but-entirely-earnest-assertion: Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 is the all-time best superhero-movie villain. KNIVES OUT!

I like his kitchen.
Indeed.
I will never forgive Doc Ock for throwing a car at the man he was just supposed to talk to. That seems a little harsh.
I would of done the same thing, but that’s probably because I’m very awkward in conversations.
I’ve got Finest Hour playing in my car now. It might be his best one!
Aaaaaaww.
DOC OCK THE BEST!? EVERYONE DENIES THIS.
In terms of like, being a fleshed-out character and stuff, he was pretty good. But Ledger’s Joker…so compelling…so awesome. Totally one note, but that note was fuckin’ sweet.
Ledger was great, but he lacked giant sentient mechanical arms.
If giant sentient mechanical arms are the standard by we we shall be judged I fear we may all fall short.
I like to think that Ben was actually Mysterio and that’s why the Daredevil sucked…
The mechanical arms definitely score him points in my book, but he really seals it in being able to have an entire fanbase nickname him “D’cock”
All kneel before ZOD!
Molina is great and Spiderman 2 as a whole is fantastic but Doctor Octopus as a villain is kind of on plot auto-pilot until Kunta…[whip crack]…Tobey McGuire talks him out of being evil (lame). Ledger’s Joker on the other hand is consistently badass and a complete wild card through the whole movie. There is no better comic book movie villain moment than the pencil trick on Black Dynamite’s goon.
Unpopular-but-entirely-earnest-assertion: Ledger’s Joker is overrated.
Hyperbolic-but-still-somewhat-earnest-assertion: Ledger’s Joker was as interesting as porridge.
I like Ledger’s Joker, don’t get me wrong, I thought it was great. But I do think people vastly overrate being a complete wild card.
The best villain in a Superhero movie is Doc Oc? I disagree, sir.
I forgot how good the sentient arms were, I gotta watch that movie again. (He did end up getting all sappy over his wife though, right? That would subtract some points.)
But in terms of who I’d rather watch, it’s Ledger. I’d have a unique physiological reaction whenever he’d re-appear on-screen…it was mostly just goosebumps and an erection, but still real for all, ugh, near dozen times I saw it in theaters.
Hey, I like porridge, don’t get me wrong. It’s nice and filling on a cold winter morning, but it’s not particularly thrilling or mulitfaceted.
This analogy may need some work.
That’s arguably true, but I think the absolute best villain ever was Frank Gorshin
…when he played the drug lord from Meteor Man
“I like Ledger’s Joker, don’t get me wrong, I thought it was great. But I do think people vastly overrate being a complete wild card.”
Vince, I think Charlie from Always Sunny disagrees with that assertion.
I absolutely love Ledger’s Joker but I think he loses a few points for having full makeup and whatnot. It seems a little easier to “become” a character so to speak when you spend hours having professional makeup applied. That being said, what’s the likelihood of Special K becoming the Filmdrunk favorite in May?
Random complaint: why the fuck is the UK getting to see movies before us now? Do they even have super heroes in that grey waste?
The next thing out of Vince: Spiderman 3 was the best one guys!, I mean, Come on!
You left out the part where Adam Savage made that costume for Patton in four hours. You are a terrible person and should feel bad about yourself.

Thank you for including this, no sarcasto.
Burnsy’s comment about his kitchen just has me thinking of the name “Rich Kitchens” again. Vaya con Dios, productivity!
The best part about Molina’s Doc Ock is when he stops everything to listen to his awesome mix tape and does blow with a sexually ambiguous oriental chap.
Molina’s career peaked in the first 10 minutes of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Oh wow. I never actually realized that. Good performance as the giant boulder.
Carlos Mencia suddenly has a great idea for a Halloween costume.
What about Brett Ratner directing Xmen 3?
Wow someone fucked Patton Oswalt? Whodathunk?
