Get Ready For A Lot More Aaron Paul

Aside from Breaking Bad, you’d probably have a hard time thinking of anything else that Emmy winner Aaron Paul has been in. But now that he’s skyrocketing to fame, we know that he was on an episode of The Price is Right, was the random wasted bro at the end of National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, appeared in some music videos, and was the lead male model for the t-shirt site Palmer Cash. And like I said, he’s now an Emmy winner on AMC’s best show, so that means Hollywood is about to Sam Worthington and Michael Fassbender him all over us.

So how long until Paul is a leading man? Now. Already happened.

The Emmy winning actor will play the lead in DreamWorks Studios’ adaptation of the best selling Electronic Arts video game, the studio announced today. Act of Valor director Scott Waugh is set to helm the film. Need For Speed is scheduled to come out on February 7, 2014. “We are huge fans of Aaron’s and his stellar work on Breaking Bad. We couldn’t be more excited to have him headline our cast for Need for Speed, said Holly Bario, DreamWorks’ President of Production. (Via Deadline)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul’s agent’s phone was ringing off the hook by the time he was handed his Emmy statue. As for the project… it is what it is. Need for Speed is the one of the most popular video game franchises out there, and dude’s gotta make that coin and cut his A-list teeth, even if it means starring in what will essentially be a Fast and the Furious retread.

We all like Paul, as he seems like a good guy and he parties with Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan. Hopefully, this is the beginning and leads to him getting that role in The Dark Tower that he wants. Make it happen, H-wood.
