Howdy, folks, Vince here. Look, I’ll cut to the chase. We need your help. Our old friend Oliver Noble is making a supercut for HuffPo about a subject near and dear to our hearts: the animal reaction shot. You know, like when Martin Lawrence in a fat suit slips on a banana peel and it cuts to a dog covering its eyes with its paws? We love that sh*t. Only trouble is, between our two brains, we can only remember like 15 instances of animal reaction shots. I know you guys can help us remember some more. The banner image already includes the reaction shot bulldog from Sherlock Holmes 2 and the chimp from Speed Racer, so that should get you started. Then there was that movie, Andre, about the little girl and the seal. I’m pretty sure that was like 60 percent seal reaction shots.
Sound off in the comments.

Would it help to name movies that have prominent animal performances? Anchorman. The Artist. Down and Out in Beverly Hills. Grizzly Man.
Andy Serkis, bro!
Van Wilder – “Get him fixed” or when they Jerk the dog off.
Dunston Checks in should be a goldmine.
Most Vertical Primate, Brometheus!
How about in Equilibrium when Christian Bale kills all those guys because he can’t have a puppy? There has to be a reaction shot from that puppy somewhere in there.
Pretty much all of Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Or is that too shitty of a movie to bother with?
Most Xtreme Primate
At least one of the Beethoven movies must have one.
Dog from Tron Legacy

Ace Ventura’s little monkey buddy has a lot of those.
Coming to America, that little shit dog at the end when the McDowell dad is running back and forth from the living room to yell at Darrel and back again and then Joffe Jafar comes in and oh my GOD it’s wacky. There are like eight different dog reaction shots in that scene. And then he attacks Darrel.
It always made me laugh so hard when Father McDowell says “Can’t you get that through your greazy head??” Black people saying “greazy” is never unfunny. Is that racist? Maybe!
I also feel like Spielberg has mined the dog reaction shot a lot. AND I feel like I saw it recently. War Horse maybe? I know that had an angry goose in it. That shit was hilarious.
That spider that goes surfing down the shower chick’s rack in arachnophobia. He looked happy.
And of course all the obvious, already-animal-themed ones. The Air Bud franchise. Japanese snuff film Milo and Otis. Homeward Bound.
OH and Hugo just recently had that doberman reaction shot when it turns out Sacha Baron Cohen was actually sitting in the tub with him. I distinctly remember laughing LOUDLY in the theater when they cut to the doberman looking befuddled. I’m an idiot.
Don’t forget the pigeon double-take from “Moonraker”. Bond rides the streets in his gondola-car and the pigeons think it’s ca-raaazy!
The horse heart attack in “Animal House” is also kind of genius.
Ace Ventura Jr.
Dr. Doolittle. That’s got to have a few hundred in there.
Every Which Way But Loose is another obvious one.
The dog in the Burbs. Horse in Legend of Zorro
Any scene from the award winning “Dunston Checks in”
The horse getting jerked off in Freddy Got Fingered kills me every time…
Horse plays it off so deadpan…
Old Dogs has some great ones
This is a terrible idea for a supercut. So I’ll have to add the dog with its nuts frozen to the porch in Joe Dirt, and the old mans dog who wants to get stoned in Road Trip.
Indiana Jones IV. No movie is complete without CGI gopher reaction shots.
The sex scene in Ace Ventura. Also, I know it’s not from a movie, but I think the dramatic prairie dog should be in there anyway.
This one?
Sex and the City, when Sarah Jessica Parker gets stood up at the altar.
Brilliant.
Cool Dog, Karate Dog, Heavy Petting, Top Dog featuring Chuck Norris.
On a side note, you should just add Diamond Dog in there for good measure, Hillbilly…gotcha!
The Pirates of the Caribbean movies all featured a shit load of reaction shots between the monkey, the dog with the keys, and the parrot. It’s a treasure trove, no pun intended.
When Antonio Banderas jumps off a roof and misses his horse in the Mask of Zorro, there’s a perfect reaction shot: [www.youtube.com]
The Nathan Lane classic Mousehunt.
Turner & Hooch; K-9; K-911…
An hour of YouTube surfing that began with a Benji trailer brought me to this…. and its so, so perfect.

dammit, that was the wrong link.

Failure
Seems a little too easy when you start to mine “Babe” and “Pig in the City”.
Hotel for Dogs
The Ed trailer has a couple of nice ones.
Snow Dogs, starring not one but two Academy Award winning actors.
Anything involving the Little Rascals.
Trading Places, when CLarence Beeks is in the GOrilla Suit and gets raped by the other Gorilla.
You GOTTA include the shot from the episode of Simpsons when Lisa is watching an old movie her dance teacher starred in, and when they start dancing it cuts to the cat rubbing it’s eyes in disbelief with obviously fake paws.
There may be one or two in Hudson Hawk from that little dog that gets launched out of the windows.
BALL BALL
definitely some good ones in monkey shines.
does a man in a chimp suit count? cause the guy in Ed has to be the cream of the crop for those.
or how about cgi kangaroos?
I’ll be damned if “The Zookeeper” isn’t CHOCK FILLED with animal reaction shots.
There’s gotta be a few of the dog from Gremlins. He watches Gizmo spew out the extra mogwais and get strung up in a Christmas tree.
I was gonna read all of them, but then i didn’t… the raccoon in “the great outdoors.”
Hangover 2?
Thor licking his chops in Lost Boys after pushing the one who looks like twisted sister in the bath.
All the dogs in UP, anytime someone says squirrel.
You can probably fill the video with shots of my boy, Pete.

Dude covers his eyes all the time
The horse in Cactus Jack aka The Villain. [www.youtube.com]
Cheetah in any of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies. Here he is taking the piss out of some Nazis: [www.youtube.com]
the bulldog in Ski Patrol….it farts and smiles
Do Ninja Toitles count?
The bulldog-alien in John Carter.
