I’ve always been a big Pixar supporter (I DON’T CARE WHO I PISS OFF BY SAYIN’ I LOVE WALL-E, I DIDN’T GET WHERE I AM BY BEIN’ AFRAID OF CONTROVERSY), but after a couple of Cars movies and Brave looking like the most uninspired of female-protagonist plots (I didn’t get to go to my press screening so I can’t confirm this yet), you wonder if the brand has lost its luster. Well today brings us the trailer for Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, the prequel to 2001′s Monsters Inc, in case you always wondered where the monsters matriculated before they started their LLC. I never saw the original, but it seems like if it was any good someone would’ve forced me to watch it by now. It’s like Toy Story with monsters, right? Anyway, the big blue bear guy and the walking eyeball are college roommates in this one.
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Eh. It seems cute enough. People my age can take our kids to it while smuggling in beer helmets to relive our college days. I’m telling you, dude, me and Burnsy ruled that school. You can take a long pull from your beer, give your kid a fist pound and be like, “Bro, you think this is righteous? You should’ve been there when we dared Goose to fingerbang the pig-faced Tri-Delt after Pike midget toss and he ended up having to register as a sex offender. Craziest semester ever. That Tri-Delt’s your Aunt Lindsay now, by the way.”

Kitty!
Mike Wazowski! Mike Wazowski!
Is it just me, or does every monster in that picture look like a weird sex toy come to life? I dunno, maybe I’m shopping at the wrong stores . . .
If Brave isn’t good, I am going to be sooooooo disappointed, y’all.
Either way, she’ll probably be a better action princess than Mopey McHeartburn, so there’s that.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen it. Not a bad movie but more ‘Disney’s Brave, animated by Pixar’. Disney’s paws are all over this thing. After seeing it, calling it ‘Brave’ makes absolutely no sense to me.
Hold up. People didn’t like Walle? Walle was damn good.
The Toy Story sequels were great, but seriously Pixar? I know sequels make money but they’re soooooooo boring. At least Brave is an original idea.
Lemme know if you still think that after seeing Brave.
“They should just ditch the monsters completely. It should be a crazy 3-D movie with awesome visuals, but move in a totally different direction. Maybe have it be a western or something? But ‘Monsters’ in name only. Fans can suck a dick.” -Frotcast Brett
“That’s stupid. A prequel has to acknowledge the original; or you can’t call it a ‘prequel’”. -Frotcast Brendon
“Whatever. I just hope all the dark Monsters are all slaves on a plantation.” – Vince
Monsters Inc is my favorite Pixar movie. Needless to say, I am excited about this. One thing that worries me: take away Boo, and Monsters Inc isnt nearly as good.
DUDE! Monsters, Inc is classic Pixar. Cute, Sweet, Funny. Good voicing. I didn’t care for either Cars movie, but I love every other Pixar film (even A Bugs Life)
I am super excited about this movie…the first monsters inc was great, and you should see it
I hate anything that gives children hope.

Brave will be a pleasure to watch. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Ben Dover’s oeuvre it’s that when a Scot pops up it’s always a wacky and delightful surprise.
WHO THE HELL DIDN’T LIKE WALL*E?
Love the site, visit daily, but c’mon man…kinda lazy (uninformed) post. Taking a swipe at Brave without even going to your free screening? And you never saw Monsters Inc? Egregious for a big Pixar supporter.
Being honest about things I haven’t seen isn’t lazy. I couldn’t see Brave because we were recording a podcast, but the only thing that would make me even remotely interested from all the trailers is the Pixar logo. Other than that it looks like the plot from Whip It.
have you guys seen the japanese trailer for brave? it paints a much different stoey for it, so I’m stil hoping that it’s going to be good
Haha Vince your frat guy voice is absolutely sublime.
