I posted a couple of their parody commercials the other day, and now there’s a full trailer for The Campaign. The premise of Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis battling it out for a southern senate seat (with Jason Sudeikis as Ferrell’s campaign manager) should sound like the best news ever, and it would, except that The Campaign was directed by Jay Roach, who last did Dinner for Schmucks, a comedy so unfunny you’d think no one in the crew spoke English. Check out the trailer below, and see if you can enjoy the natural Ferrell/Galifianakis charm and humor in the face of the poor story choices. HAHA, HIS FAMILY IS FAT! A GOAT LICKED THAT KID’S WIENER! HIS WIENER! A GOAT! CAN YOU THINK OF A WACKIER COMBINATION?!?

Anyway, God help me, but that kid’s line about the goat licking his wiener reminded me of this:

Know what sounds like even better-er best news ever? A movie starring Paul Rudd and Steve Carell, along with Zach Galifianakis, Jemaine Clement and National Treasure Bruce Greenwood.
But nooooooope, Jay Roach found a way to ruin that, too. This will blow goats.
At least the goat will return the favour.

Nice to see Ferrell and Galifianakis really stretching their acting wings by taking on roles that are way out of their comfort zone.
Meh, every movie can’t be Everything Must Go or . (Which is good, because they were kinda ‘meh.’)
If the comedic choice was between having a goat lick your wiener and having a Filipino tilt-a-wheel operator lick your wiener… wait, what was I talking about? Oh, yeah. Don’t see this.

Suddenly The Dictator does not look like the worst film idea of the year. Apparently no one told Will Ferrell that his feature length Saturday Night Live sketches are getting really old and annoying. There has not really been a Will Ferrell movie I have liked since Talladega Nights, and even that is a guilty pleasure.
That will be the only way that anyone drags me into this film.
How played out are The Black Keys?
I actually saw this on a screening preview, we were the first audience to see it they said and my GF and I thought it was pretty hilarious! It was a bit long in its first cut but still it had some great scenes that really had us rolling. Then afterwards we went to get dinner and saw Zack with his buddy, he must of snuck into the theater after it started to see how people reacted. When we left I went up to him and told it how much I enjoyed it he thanked me and shook my hand it was pretty cool.
