Jay Roach has had a weird career. (He also looks a bit like Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, but that’s another story). Between directing horrific anti-comedies like Dinner for Schmucks and Meet the Fockers, he does acclaimed political retrospectives for HBO like Recount, about the 2000 election. In the same vein, Game Change is based on the 2008 book about the McCain/Palin ticket, starring Ed Harris† as John McCain and Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin. You can check out the trailer below, and just in time. It felt like it was almost five minutes since I’d last heard that c*nt’s name.
“American Woman.” (*sigh*) At least it wasn’t “Rebel, Rebel.”
I guess.
[Premieres March 10th on HBO.]
†Fun Fact: Ed Harris was the other actor Nick Nolte mentioned who refused to clap when Elia Kazan won a lifetime achievement award because Kazan named names during the Communist witch hunts in the 50s.

I sense that Netflix rentals of ‘Boogie Nights’ are going to shoot up all over the Midwest soon after this film comes out.
And Chloe.
I think Nolte’s confused. Ed Harris gave Elia Kazan the clap for naming names in the 50′s. This is yet another thing I have in common with Elia Kazan.
I’ll stick with Tina Fey sketches, thanks.
Whenever I talk with someone who likes Sarah Palin, I point out that ‘Sarah Palin’ is an anagram for ‘Plain Rapes’. This induces an hypnotized state in the Palin supporter, leaving them vulnerable to my giving them a throat-punching. (Sorry about the neck bruise, grandma!)
I think they should leave the “lipstick” joke out of the movie, or at least the trailer, until there’s even one vertebrate on the planet who doesn’t know the punchline. My son knows it and he wasn’t even alive during that campaign. In fact, he thinks a better answer is “at least the pit bull will eventually shut the fuck up.”
This reminds me of how much I like to masturbate to her performance in The Forgotten.
…
I- I wish I knew why:’(
I preferred this movie when they called it Sarah, Palin and Tall.
/at least Game Change has ditched that annoying-ass accent
//Moore shows the red carpet or GTFO
I’m still waiting for the movie about America’s most sheepish conservative, Michael Cera Palin.
I wish Palin would fucking eat a neutron bomb and all memory of her is erased from everything for some reason idk aliens, what ever fuck you.
Two posts in a row where the primary subject is a vapid ignorant raving cunt who has a vast appeal that I will never be ignorant and misguided enough to even approach understanding… Don’t typecast yourself Mangina.
If you rearrange ‘John McCain’ you get ‘Jam Conch In,’ which is fitting because McCain got election raped by a Hawaiian.
How did they get Joe the Plumber to play Woody Harrelson?
When ol’ J-Mac let this happen to him, Fuddlefuck as his running mate I mean, I stopped resenting him for turning from his reasoned, antipartisan, rational, and his embracing pandering to the wing nuts, in a desperate attempt to gain a higher legacy, and started seeing him as the weak, broken, confused old man being taken advantage of by his handlers that he his. Ya, asshole, I still resent voting for you in 2000 in protest.
How about they get Joe the D-Bag to go fuck himself.
Susan G. Komen does not like this movie.
Who would seriously waste their time watching this. If you get off on Palin Hate, then it’s gotta be your cup of tea. Otherwise, I don’t see the appeal of a movie that’s sole message is “Sarah Palin is a dumb whore”. Now see how many times we illustrate that.
^^^This. Apparently Donkey hasn’t been following the site lately. Making fun of liberals isn’t funny here. Making fun of boring, presently irrelevant conservatives is of course hilarious, and apparently “acclaimed”.
Liberals funnier than Palin: Biden, Pelosi, Obama, Robert Byrd, Any personality of MSNBC, Keith Olberman, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Michelle Obama…etc, etc, etc…
Robert Byrd, the senator who died two years ago? That doesn’t seem that funny.
Literally none of the people you listed have any humor factor whatsoever outside of Biden. You basically named every democrat you could, which shows the level of humor all republicans operate at. How many times do we have to tell you to not leave the house without your helmet CakeEater??
@Vince It’s always a delight to make fun of backwood racist hicks like Sen. Byrd.
Byrd was a backwards racist back in the 1940s, but he pretty quickly switched gears and became a champion of civil rights. By the end of his career, he had long ago apologized for what he did and was earning a perfect rating from the NAACP for his leadership on civil rights issues.
The Republicans, meanwhile, had Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott saying in 2002 that “we wouldn’t have had all these problems that we have” in America if we’d just been able to elect another racist from that era as our president.
Unlike Byrd, Strom Thurmond — seen here ranting about the “nigra menace” in that presidential campaign Trent Lott was waxing nostalgic over — never apologized for what he did then. Instead, he led all the other racist southern Democrats into the GOP where they were welcomed with open arms.
But yeah, Democrats must be the real racists. Good point, Leadpaint Eater.
Hey hey hey, I was just pointing out that the guy used to dress up in bedsheets and ride around burning crosses in folks’ yards. I know that Thurmond was a hateful racist prick just like dixiecrats and Lincoln. Don’t take it as a personal attack.
Who’s playing Glen Rice?
Better yet, who’s playing Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, and Vera Baker?
Lexington Steel?
I vote Lisa Bonet for Vera Baker.
LOL at this movie being “acclaimed”. Liberals and conservatives alike are saying its simply a liberal political hit piece designed to marginalize Palin. Awesome and accurate mini-series like The Kennedy’s gets axed because of liberal influence (mainly the Kennedy’s themselves) while this junk gets considered “acclaimed”. Give me a break.
Poor syntax on my part. I meant Recount was acclaimed, this one’s not out yet.
Palin marginalizes herself every time she appears on FOX News. How can a two hour movie marginalize a 24/365 political propaganda news cycle?
You do realize that “Game Change” was written by Mark Halperin, the guy who thought every single development in the 2008 campaign was “good news for John McCain” and who said President Obama was acting like “a dick” in an appearance on MSNBC?
That’s the guy behind your “liberal hit piece”? How stupid are you?
Oh wait, I’ve read your other comments. I withdraw the question.
If by “Axed” you mean it was shown in its entirety here and in the UK and awarded an Emmy, then yes, it was “Axed”.
And who ever said this movie was or would be acclaimed? Nothing in the trailer makes it look entertaining, well made or interesting.
Lot of Palin hate around here. I understand not liking her, but this level of hate. Still? Really? Call me crazy, but shouldn’t the hate be directed at HBO for putting this shit on the air? I can’t believe this is from the same network that gave us Deadwood.
It suits their political agenda. I am by no means a huge fan of Sarah Palin, but this movie is a joke. Its a liberal caricature. Can you imagine if a network did a Hilary Clinton hit job like this, but focusing on Bill’s affairs and what not? Of course you can’t, because Hollywood wouldn’t dare make a liberal woman bad. Its about silencing dissent and showing that there can be no strong conservative women.
I hate her because she hasn’t shown her tits yet.
You’re not a Palin supporter yet you’ve complained 3 different times ln the same post…not doing a very good job of hiding who you are BRISTOL
She hated me first.
@CakeEater I don’t like Palin, she set conservatives back 20 years; anyway, if you want a strong conservative look no further than Cunillingus RIce.
Can you imagine if a network did a Hilary Clinton hit job like this, but focusing on Bill’s affairs and what not?
Can you imagine if they cast John Travolta as Bill Clinton and Emma Thompson as Hillary, focused extensively on his philandering, and then released it in 1998 right at the height of the impeachment circus? I mean, certainly such a film would never ever have happened, right?
And this “liberal caricature,” by the way, is based on a book by Mark Halperin, the guy who went on MSNBC and said Obama was acting like “a dick.” Wow, what a liberal sycophant.
I don’t know what’s worse — your nonstop whining about how conservatives are always the poor widdle victims or your utter fucking cluelessness about the world in general. Go call Glenn Beck, because no one out here gives a fucking shit.
This is not what I pay HBO for. I want dragons and titties!
Where’s my +/thumbs up/like button!
Holy shit how did I get into this youtube comments section?
Hmmmm, a movie called Recount about the 2000 election and now this. I believe its called propoganda. I wonder which way they swing in politics?
I have a better question. Why would anyone care what HBO’s politics are?
I love when conservatives complain about a private corporation’s business decisions. It’s called the free market, you fucking hippie. You want to make movies about how great conservatives are, go right ahead.
Deadwood depicted a land devoid of the federal government, which operated on a gold standard, and businesses were able to collaborate in a cartel-like fashion to set prices and control their clientele.
So I’m gonna go with, HBO is Libertarian.
I bet if HBO did a movie about Michelle Obama, this site would be sucking the dicks of the producers. fuck you liberal cunts.
Only if Gosling and Fassbender produce it.
Sites can suck dicks now? Did the Japanese develop that? Fucking pervs.
JohnMatrix is reading this on an iPad, obviously.
I’d rather see a dramatic, behind the scenes look at the conflict and struggle in the making of “Who’s Nailin’ Paylin?”
This is fucking garbage.
I hope it shows the bristol/levi Johnson date rape.
For those of you who thought “Moneyball” wasn’t overly dramatized enough, there’s “Game Change.”
Never much cared for the woman (or her crazy uncle from AZ). I’m a crazy right winger, true, but I’m also a misogynistic intellectual elitist, so she’s just another that I really don’t care for. On the other hand, my hungering cynicism does find the hatred she elicits from people even dumber and more superficial than she is to be delightful.
Thank you. For the record, the anger in the post was directed at least as much at the people who keep her name in the news as it is Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin is just some dumb bitch, and that’s fine. And I mean that as an apolitical statement. There are dumb bitches, douchebags, cunts, and dickheads on every side of the aisle. They don’t all need to be famous. I hate her reality TV show producers much more than her. In fact, I hate pretty much anyone with a reality show unless it’s about competitive cooking or fighting in which case I fucking love it.
The only way to settle this if Michelle Obama and Sarah Palin wrestle naked in a pool of wolves’ blood. Also if you consider yourself a hard-line liberal or conservative, you are probably and idiot in the first place and don’t deserve to use the internet.
Snooki should play Bristol.
All this vitriol…can we focus on the real issue? Roach (who I will never unsee as Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer) is married to Susanna Hoffs. That’s the real story in all of this.
Danny Strong, the writer, played Jonathan on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Huh.
