Not too long ago, I brought you the trailer for the Indian film Endhiran, the most expensive Indian movie ever made, a movie which featured a giant snake made of robot men slithering around and eating cars, a film so good people bathed the poster in milk and showered screens with flowers, a film Danger Guerrero described as “like if Michael Bay had a baby with Michael Bay.”
Today I bring you the trailer for another Indian film, RA.One, which stands for “Random Access Version 1.0.” This one doesn’t have any giant cobras made of robot men (we may have to wait for version 2.0 for that), but it does have one robot man (or computer man, anyway) throwing cars and breaking the sidewalk like a boss (which is all the rage these days). And because he’s Indian, he’s not immune to the touch of a woman or the lure of song. If things go well, who knows, maybe we’ll see an appearance by the dancing condoms, if you know what I mean. Also, I like the idea of a computerized action hero set in India. If he breaks down, tech support is right there. It would be like an iPad rampaging through the genius bar.
Stars Arjun Rampal, directed by Anubhav Sinha, opens in India in October.

I’m the Pete Hammond of Kollywood.
You’re more like the Pete Hollywood of Hammond, LA. I don’t even know what that means.
Well it’s good to see Indians are finally joining the modern world and spending big money on frivolous entertainment, instead of feeding their starving masses, or cleaning up their open cesspits.
More like if Michael Bay had fraternal twins with Michael Bay, and then the Bay twins had a baby that had a baby with Michael Bay, which was then tutored by M.Night Shayamalan.
Jeez, it seems like every big movie release these days is scheduled for Diwali.
Come on, save something for Durga Puja, guys.
Is it truly derivative if nobody in the audience knows that it is?
Hi Vince, I appreciate your blog, however, there is a mistake. The trailer you have included is not of the star Arjun Rampal, but actually Shahrukh Khan. I just thought you’d want to know so you could correct the line that reads: “Stars Arjun Rampal, directed by Anubhav Sinha, opens in India in October.” !!!! :)
According to IMDB, Arjun Rampal plays Ra.One and Shahrukh Khan as G.One.

Are they wrong? Am I missing something?
Not gonna lie, Endhiran was one of the greatest things man has ever created.
Evil robot on a rampage? TIME FOR A MUSICAL NUMBER!
Oh I don’t know…. all I was saying was that those pictures that you have posted are of Shahrukh Khan not Arjun Rampal… also, in the bollywood industry Shahrukh trumps Arjun Rampal. He is the king of bollywood.
Both guys are starring.
