Drop your panties, girl, I got a new supercut I want to put in you. This one comes from SlashFilm reader Derek Settler, “Reel Wisdom: Lessons from 40 Films in 7 Minutes.”
I made this video because I love films and I think there is great wisdom inherent in the film medium. This video represents some of the best wisdom from films, edited together as a single coherent piece of advice on everything from life, death, and purpose, to anger, regret, and destiny. In creating this video, I tried to feature a broad array of films, from action/adventure and sci-fi films, to dramas and traditional/CG animated films in order to show how all genres of film have something important to say. [SlashFilm]
Ew! Ew! The earnestness! It feels all slimy against my skin! I kid, but seriously, I’d probably have avoided Troy and the Star Wars prequels if I was doing the whole “movie wisdom” supercut unironically. And maybe thrown in “And then you f*ck the plant” from 40-Year-Old Virgin, or “If you blow chunks and she comes back, she’s yours,” from Wayne’s World. But I think he’s onto something with this whole “great wisdom inherent in the film medium” thing.
So much knowledge. I think my brain needs a cigarette. Thank you, Martin Lawrence.
