Zhang Yimou directed Hero and House of Flying Daggers, and his latest project is a remake of the Coen Brothers’ Blood Simple called A Woman, A Gun, and A Noodle Shop. The setting is a Chinese noodle shop in the desert, rather than a bar in Texas like the original, hence the title. It opens September 3rd, and supposedly the Coens loved it. The trailer doesn’t tell us a whole lot about it, but it sure looks pretty. It also stars this guy, who I assume is the Chinese Steve Buscemi:
Hey, get that shirtless dude away from my noodle dough.

Don’t worry Donnie these men are from the Tang Dynasty, they’re cowards.
He originally wanted to remake Intolerable Cruelty, but he couldn’t pronounce it.
That dude is hardly shirtless. He’s more like guntplus.
Well, since he’s not really Asian-American, I guess Chinaman is the preferred nomenclature here, dude.
Off topic, but wanted to share this: http://www.morphthing.com/image/29532541-joker-jpg-vince-jpg?key=7add196fa435688995748334670b950b
This ought to be good but the definitive example of the noodle shop genre will always be Tampopo. It’s been a while since I saw it but I’m pretty sure Tampopo has boobs in it.
Isnt 10 guan what your mother charges for a blow job Willie?
Oh have another one ya lush!
@Froteur
My favorites on there are Palpatine+Paris Hilton, and Hitler+Harry Potter.
@Charlie
I’m shocked someone else out there has seen Tampopo. All I remember was the cover had a bunch of Asians sitting in a giant bowl of noodles.
All I can really remember is the raw egg swapping kiss scene. Sexy stuff.
