Apparently in the 60s, Canada had a show called Skippy, about a kangaroo who was sort of a hopped-up version of Lassie. Also, he plays the drums. You just got served, Marmaduke. [via OhHaveYouSeenThis]

“Skippy the bush, Kangaroo” is what Bob Keeshan’s wife used to tell him when she was in the mood.
Seriously Donk? If it was that far away I could’ve reached it for you.
That kangaroo is a hell of a lot better on drums than the jackass on drums in my Rock Band. How do you fuck up “Don’t Fear the Reaper” for god’s sake?
Sorry, Swi, but I woke up with the mental image of Captain Kangaroo pounding away at an 18-year old runaway and I just wanted to share that mental picture with all of you. Consider it an early Christmas present.
Rock Band comes with a cowbell?
Cowbell Hero!
Don’t hang this on Canada. I’ve buried enough childhood trauma.
Kick ass new up.
The ’60s? Did they have cassette tapes in the ’60s?
Hey man, it’s Daily Circle Jerk, I just read the descriptions I’m given.
Yes, of course it was from Canada. Filmed in the Canadian bush, with all the Canadian eucalypts, and koalas, and kookaburras laughing in the trees.
Fucking internet.
Skippy is australian god dammit, does canada even have kangaroos?
Also from the awesome wiki on the show: “The series was dubbed into Spanish in Mexico, where it is known as “Skippy el canguro”, and distributed to most Spanish-speaking countries, including Cuba and Spain, countries where the show became very popular. The series also crossed the iron curtain and was aired in Czechoslovakia in the 80′s and is currently still being broadcast in Iran. However, the show was forbidden to be shown in Sweden where psychologists believed that the show would mislead children into believing animals could do things that they couldn’t.”
This is like saying Neil Armstrong is from Guatemala, or Michael Jackson is from Uranus.
At least Ufford knows basic geography
Don’t you dare steal Skippy away from us. Damn those sneaky Canadians……
