TRON LEGACY FOOTAGE FROM COMIC-CON
07.27.09After the jump, you can watch the three minutes of footage from Tron Legacy that premiered at Comic-Con. Now, I know I’m probably going to piss off 85% of my readership by saying this, but even as a kid I always
thought Tron was kind of weird and lame. Space, the mountains, the deep sea, underground, prehistoric times – all of these would make better fantasy settings to me than the interior of some gay rave computer. So there, feel free to disinvite me to your LAN parties.
Tron Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde) [pictured], father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
Fine, but where’s the Kung Fu? If the characters get sucked into a digital world of blinky lights and black leather, people are going to naturally expect Kung Fu.
And as if to combine all the things whose appeal I don’t understand into one place, Daft Punk will be doing the score.

They should cast Verne Troyer as the spambot that shows up in 50% of the places they visit.
Who is going to play the Microsoft Paperclip?
When did Jeff Bridges wake up and say “I want to look like that guy in the Dos Equis spots….”
I liked it better when we were calling it TR2N
(no I didn’t)
This man better have a cameo. Thats how studios reward lifelong crippling obsession right?

I’ve never seen Tron either. i was always more of a Clockwork Orange fan.
I’m not nearly high enough to know what the fuck that video was.
*hops into sensory dep tank*
I can’t wait to not see this movie.
Side note, did he kill the guy with a glowing frisbee?
@ First Class
It was an energy disc *nerd rage*
but really you can kill someone by turning on your headlights?
@the average Bore-
Pretty sure that was a glow in the dark koosh frisbee.
Daft Punk is doing the score to the movie.
Think that’ll be enough to get people too see it?
