05.05.09 R.I.P. DOM DELUISE
Dom Deluise died last night at the age of 75, which is like 162 in fat comedian years. The actor was in roughly a billion movies, including the voice of Pizza the Hutt in Spaceballs, Don Giovanni in Robin Hood Men in Tights, Cannonball Run, Blazing Saddles, etc. etc. So far, all that’s known is that he “died peacefully in his sleep” in Los Angeles.
In honor of his contributions to show business, here’s a hastily put-together video tribute with a couple of his great scenes in Men in Tights and Blazing Saddles. You just can’t get away with yelling “Watch me, faggots!” anymore. He will be missed.
Blazing Saddles:
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Muppet Show
Cannonball Run

Dor sho gha! No wonder so much power has been diverted to Grethor’s inertial dampeners this morning!
Oh, fuck, I am going to be the only one that gets that, huh?
That sucks.
When reached for comment, Peter Deluise was quoted as saying “It’s about fucking time. Who’s got the will? I’m tired of blowing dudes for food.”
There were entire Irish lineages that couldn’t handle the drinking they did on the set of Cannonball Run.
He will be burried in a calzone with his likeness toasted onto the crust.
@fek’lhr – I’m not a trekkie or whatever Klingon nerds call themselves but I got it.
I’m curious as to The Mighty One’s opinion of the new “Kingon” commercials from BK?
GET ME A WHOPPER!!!
*wrings hands in anticipation*
In the future, Vance, I expect to get news like this from you, not some random friend who emails me without softening the blow like you do so well.
Al, I got news of it from your comment in the pervious article. I will Always Remember Dom as the cat in An American Tale, since i grew up the Don Bluth movies he did voices for (I think All Dogs Go to Heaven might be the best Reyonds/Deluise film)
The police will lead the funeral procession to the Krispy Creme for the service.
Al said “blow.”
*giggles, runs back to class*
All of the words on Dom’s Tombstone will be spelled out in pepperoni.
Biggie, they call themselves
Klingonsaccountants. If you haven’t seen the movie “Fatso” – get on it. One of my favorite Dom Deluise roles.
That, and as The Pope in Johnny Dangerously.
They only had him voice Pizza The Hutt? I thought they just wrangled him onto the set on some random weekend after he made love to a Pizza.
At S Soup: He is so funny in Johnny Dangerously, I wish he was in more of the movie.
I haven’t seen Fatso, just looked it up, I didn’t realize Ann Bancroft directed movies, let alot a movie in the style of her husband’s (Mel Brooks)comedies, that sounds fun.
“Hey Pope, why don’t you go build yourself a new gym at the Vatican”
R.I.P.
Tippin’my 40 to my homey…
Wait, why is the ground making a slurping sound?
RIP Dom…
You would have lost to me on Celebrity Jeopardy, but who wouldn’t have?
@Erswi, I figured that’s what they were called, I just didn’t want to confuse them with jews.
Its only fitting that he should be buried in his Captain Chaos suit. Any other way would be undignified.

There were great scenes in Robin Hood: Men In Tights? Wow! I never knew that.
