The beauty of Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike is that when you watch one of his films, it’s like opening the door to a parallel universe where anything can happen, especially if it’s really f-cked up and involves lactating. After the jump you can watch the trailer for his latest, Yatterman, “a big-budget, live-action adaptation of classic anime.” It’s like Roland Emmerich meets a Japanese game show. And yes, that’s a robot pig with hearts for eyes in the screencap. Behind him? A guy dressed as a rat. Consider yourself warned.

Whatever happened to that western Miike was doing with QT? Did it get released? Watched a fun Korean Western – or should that be an Eastern? – called “The Good The Bad and The Weird” recently.

They all translate along th lines:

For some reason, Japanese films tend to feature more mushroom clouds than American films do. Weird.

This movie is mased on the Anime of the same name from the 1970`s. It was recently remade as a new series that started here in Japan last year…completely unwatchable.
